Always listen to your patients. My mom was saying she was not feeling well. Initial tests were negative but she kept saying I was not good. Advocating for her & getting a 2nd opinion to turn out that she has a pulmonary embolism. That’s why #HerHeartMatters. Always listen

@sheryl4God Agree. To me, it's all about relationships, mutual respect and accountability. Every situation is different for sure, and I believe there are things both patients and clinicians/scientists can work on.

@HelenLRobert There is no perfect patient engagement because sometimes patients themselves will sabotage healthy intervention and then engage in unhealthy splitting behavior between patient advocacy groups. There is a permanent learning curve in adapting to individual cases - don't blame!

I see so much loud negativity and blaming re. dysfunctional patient engagement. How about instead, we look at positive examples and study teams that work well? Instead of focusing on problems, let's learn from those who have nailed it? Who are your rockstar teams?

@clairehsnyman @CormacRussell Love this but I actually think the "with"model is the optimal. We can do things for ourselves, but we then miss out on the HCP/scientific expertise that could influence our approach and our outcomes. To me the "by" model essentially negates the need for healthcare systems.
