Last Friday, #CoquitlamRCMP frontline officers responded to an alleged assault on a SkyTrain attendee. Officers arrived on scene in the area of the 1200 block of Pinetree Way in Coquitlam and immediately began patrolling with @TransitPoliceBC officers in search of the suspect, who had fled the immediate area. Within minutes, an officer identified and arrested the suspect without incident. This incident is a great example of how coordinated policing leads to effective outcomes for the safety of the community. 🚔🤝🚆 #CoordinatedPolicing #CommunitySafety

@cqrcmp Allowing this to continue is going to get pedestrians injured or killed. Your presence there ticketing would make a difference. I’ve nearly been hit at that intersection SEVENTEEN times in the 2 yrs I’ve lived here. It’s so dangerous & scary.

@cqrcmp @icbc How about sending a traffic officer or two to Guildford & Pipeline during rush hour. Every day motorists are blocking the intersection on a red light making crossing as a wheelchair user very dangerous. Being sandwiched between 2 SUVs to make it to the curb makes me invisible.

🚦 Yesterday, our Tri‑Cities Speed Watch team was near North Road and Lougheed Highway reminding drivers to #LeaveThePhoneAlone. 📵 @ICBC data shows distracted driving is a factor in 37% of police‑reported crashes in B.C. Staying focused behind the wheel helps keep everyone on the road safe. Let’s all do our part to prevent collisions and make sure everyone gets home safely. #DistractedDriving #DriveSafe #EyesOnTheRoad

@sampson_dog Also important for people to not interact with them when they are working. It undoes their training & it can be career ending. Thousands of dollars & years of training go into each dog so that’s no small investment to have go south. Respect the vest!

Sampson the Service Dog
Sampson the Service Dog@sampson_dog·
Mom’s been taking Pax out on multiple weekly training excursions. Some days he just wants to be too friendly with other doggo frens. Service dogs are amazing partners—but they’re still dogs. Sometimes a working dog needs a little retraining or refresher work, especially when it comes to ignoring other animals. A service dog’s job is to stay focused on their handler, even when there are distractions like other dogs, bunnies, squirrels, birds, or that “new best friend” they want to say hi to. Many service dogs are naturally social. That friendliness is great at home, but in public it can become a distraction. If a dog starts wanting to greet every dog or chase every critter, trainers may go back and reinforce skills like: • Ignoring other dogs in public
• Staying focused on the handler
• Walking past wildlife or small animals without reacting
• Choosing work over play Retraining isn’t a failure—it’s part of responsible handling. Just like people need refreshers on skills, service dogs sometimes need reminders about their job. At the end of the day, the goal is a confident, focused partner who can safely support their handler anywhere they go.

Teacher was forced to resign because she took 2 unpaid days off to care for her sick newborn—having a baby used up all her PTO. And she needed a whole U-Haul to take her stuff with her while clearing out her classroom

Insane dog sled moment: one woman grips her runaway sled for dear life as the dogs bolt, then her competitor jumps off her own sled mid-race to grab the lines and save her. Gutsy move by her competitor to jump off and help her stop her dogs.
