How wonderful. The 'Tortoise' slow combustion stove, invented by Charles Portway and made in this town of #Halstead, #Essex, looking as good as new.

Although we unable to make much progress at the moment, @ChiefHutBuilder is managing to carry out some very useful and important work. This Portway No.3 ‘Tortoise’ Stove was in a terrible state but is now back in serviceable condition again. Every Hut had at least one of these.

Outragous: just hours after ending the threat of #fracking for gas, the UK Government has effectively approved the UK's first deep coal mine in over 30 years. The company plans to mine 2.5 million tonnes of coal every year for 50 years.
