We all struggle in life at various times but a little message of hope from myself and Sienna today as we walked down Hope Avenue with her looking stunning in her pink flamingo 🦩 bandana. She had been used for puppies. Had no fur. Had bad blood issues. She was terrified of humans and stared at the wall. She was shaking with fear. Alone in the Thai countryside trying to just survive. I was an alcoholic. Suffered (and still do) from depression and anxiety and hated my life. I ended up in hospital at rock bottom from drinking. If you are out there struggling with anything from a tough relationship to abuse or addiction or just loneliness. Maybe you want a fresh start and can’t see the wood from the trees. You could be suffering from any of the thousands of things that us human hide and worry about. Just remember that no matter how bad it seems or how low you are a comeback is always possible. Sienna and myself are proof of that. As I waked her down Hope Avenue today and took her photo and told her about her new forever home I could see her tail up In the air and we both had a pep In our steps. Things can and will always get better ❤️

Nicked from another page. Nice to know the MOD has a sense of humour… Never Mess with Officialdom! Lt. Colonel Robert Maclaren retired from the British Army in 2001 after a long career. He received a letter from the Personnel Department of the Ministry of Defence setting out details of his pension and the tax-free ‘lump sum’ award, based upon his years of service, that he would receive in addition to his pension. The letter read: "Dear Lt. Colonel Maclaren, We write to confirm that you retired from the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards on 1st March 2001 at the rank of Lt Colonel, having been commissioned into the British Army at Edinburgh Castle as a 2nd Lieutenant on 1st February 1366. Accordingly your lump sum payment, based on years served, has been calculated as £68,500. You will receive a cheque for this amount in due course. Yours sincerely Army Paymaster” Lt Colonel Maclaren replied; “Dear Paymaster, Thank you for your recent letter confirming that I served as an officer in the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards between 1st February 1366 and 1st March 2001 – a total period of 635 years and 1 month. I note however that you have calculated my lump sum to be £68,500, which seems to be considerably less than it should be bearing in mind my length of service since I received my commission from King Edward III. By my calculation, allowing for interest payments and currency fluctuations, my lump sum should actually be £6, 427, 586, 619. 47p. I look forward to receiving a cheque for this amount in due course. Yours sincerely, Robert Maclaren (Lt Col Retd)” A month passed by and a stout manilla envelope from the Ministry of Defence arrived, it read: “Dear Lt Colonel Maclaren, We have reviewed the circumstances of your case as outlined in your recent letter to us dated 8th March inst. We do indeed confirm that you were commissioned into the Royal Scots Dragoon Guards by King Edward III at Edinburgh Castle on 1st February 1366, and that you served continuously for the following 635 years and 1 month. We have re-calculated your pension and have pleasure in confirming that the lump sum payment due to you is indeed £6, 427, 586, 619. 47p. However, we also note that according to our records you are the only surviving officer who had command responsibility during the following campaigns and battles; The Wars of the Roses 1455 -1485 The Civil War 1642 -1651 The Napoleonic War 1803 – 1815 The Crimean War (1853 – 1856) The Boer War (1899 -1902) World War One (1914-1918). We would therefore wish to know what happened to the following, which do not appear to have been returned to Quartermaster's Stores by you on completion of operations: 9765 Cannons 26,785 Swords 12,889 Pikes 127,345 Rifles (with bayonets) 28,987 horses (fully kitted) Plus three complete marching bands with instruments and banners. We have calculated the total cost of these items, allowing for interest payments and currency fluctuations, and they amount to £6,427,518.119.47p. We have therefore subtracted this sum from your lump sum, leaving a residual amount of £68,500, for which you will receive a cheque in due course. Yours sincerely . . . .” 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Stormzy and Spock are two of the worst injured dogs we’ve had. They fully recovered and recently got adopted. With their families living close to each other they had a little meet up to compare notes. 2 of the very best boys ❤️

BREAKING: Music legend Bruce Springsteen drops a bomb on MAGA world by announcing a surprise nationwide tour to defend America against "our wannabe king" and his "rogue government." Best of all? The first stop is in Minneapolis. "Fans, friends, and good folk from coast to coast. We are living through dark, disturbing, and dangerous times, but do not despair. The cavalry is coming," The Boss said in an announcement video. "Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band will be taking the stage this spring from Minneapolis to California to Texas to Washington, D.C. for the Land of Hope and Dreams American Tour," he continued. "We will be rocking your town in celebration and in defense of America, American democracy, American freedom, our American Constitution, and our sacred American dream, all of which are under attack by our wannabe king and his rogue government in Washington, D.C." "Everyone, regardless of where you stand or what you believe in, is welcome," Springsteen added. "So come on out and join the united free republic of E Street Nation for an American spring of rock and rebellion. I'll see you there." By starting the tour in Minneapolis, Springsteen is intentionally drawing attention to the brutal violence and killings that Trump has inflicted on the city with his masked federal agents. The singer composed the hit song "Streets of Minneapolis" in response to the ICE crackdowns. It went on to chart #1 in 21 countries. The tour starts March 31st and will entail 20-date arena showings. The timing is an absolute disaster for Trump, because it means the bard of blue collar America will be hammering his administration at one sold-out show after another. Given his rock bottom approval rating and worsening Epstein scandal, Trump can scarcely afford more bad press ahead of the midterm elections. Springsteen has proven to be one of Trump's most formidable and outspoken foes. He recognizes that this president has betrayed the working class that populate so many of his hit songs and he despises the relentless attacks on our democracy. Please ❤️ and share to thank Bruce Springsteen!

Yesterday I met a very special girl called Sally. It’s hard to believe but she had been attacked by humans with either a hot liquid or even possibly acid. Despite her pain she is the most placid girl you could ever wish to meet and she loves all humans. Even when she is getting her dressings changed every day and going through all her treatments she shows nothing but trust. Her heroes are the wonderful people at Rescue Paws who are a partner of ours. We help fund their sterilizing work but they also treat the vulnerable sick dogs in need. Sally is one of those dogs who just move you instantly when you see her. To have so much resilience and to be so gentle after what has happened to her is incredible. She has the best possible care with the team and is already eating and wagging her tail. Her life wont be ordinary and I’m sure she will be a little disfigured but she will have a happy ending. I’m looking forward to following her journey and seeing Sally bounce back ❤️

Captain Jack Harkness our beloved Jack Russell has gone. He waited until i came home and he died peacefully in his dada’s arms within an hour of my return with @scottmale Dixie and Tito around him. He was a good boy, a loyal friend and our Jackamo for 18 years. We are very sad but grateful he died of old age and did not suffer. . #love #dog #companion #friend #loyalty
