@dieworkwear Did you consider this might be a signal? Of how he views someone as not worth the extra trouble? HRH can be very pointed in subtle ways.

I'm a big fan of how Charles dressed in the past, particularly during the 1980s and 90s. However, he broke up with his primary tailor a couple of decades ago. I've heard some conflicting rumors about who cuts his clothes now. He dresses better than most men, but I agree that suit doesn't look great. In that specific case, it looks to me like someone hit his suit with a steamer, rather than giving it a good pressing. This occasionally happens when people travel, although some of the King's position should have a valet traveling with him to press his clothes. Perhaps another warning about the dangers of using a steamer on tailored clothing.

@dieworkwear HRH is often marked as a sartorial icon, but did he pack this suit in a carry bag?

💔 Emergency Rescue This Morning 💔 This little family, a young mum and her two babies, had been wandering along a busy main road for nearly 12 hours. Kind locals moved them into a field, but they still had no shelter and kept ending up back on the roadside, walking aimlessly and dangerously close to traffic 💔💔💔 When we arrived with the An Garda Síochána, they were once again on the path, lost and vulnerable 💔 little dotes 💔💔 Mum is heartbreakingly thin and still just a baby herself. She has no milk and is struggling to care for her little ones. The babies have had their horns burned to stop them growing, the wounds are raw, and there’s a risk of infection. We’ve cleaned them as best we can, and our vet is on the way. We are now bottle-feeding the babies and doing everything we can to stabilise mum. They are safe tonight, but they need ongoing care, treatment, and support. They’ve been through so much already. They deserve warmth, safety, and a chance at life, WE PROMISE THAT ❤️❤️ Please, if you can, donate to help this little family. We truly need your support. Every contribution makes a difference. donate.mylovelyhorserescue.com/one-off/ Thank you ❤️❤️❤️

🦥 Sloth Update: Day 4 of quarantine and the majority of the sloths are still stable. Our most critical sloth, Bandit, made it safely through another night in our medical building. Shout out to our vet team and Dr. Straub for their expert care of these animals as they acclimate.

@LaInaMinute House finches are native out here. But they were transported to the east coast as cage birds for rich families. Now, house finches are established in the wild on the east coast.

From San Pedro to Sylmar, Arcadia to Agoura, parrots create “pandemonium” in the skies of L.A. But parrots are not native to Los Angeles, so how did they get here?!? Let’s get into it!

Update on the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool. They are painting over the bright blue that Doug Burgum originally shared. Unclear if the brighter blue is some kind of primer and this was always the plan, or if they changed the color.

Sloth Update: All 13 sloths made it through their second night. 🦥 Our keepers are feeling cautiously optimistic about their progress, though one sloth remains in guarded condition. If you’d like to help support their care, you can make a donation on our website.

England is home to one of the rarest habitats on Earth. Chalk streams are crystal-clear rivers formed by water filtered slowly through chalk hills and aquifers. They stay cool, clean, and remarkably clear, which is why they are so beautiful. There are only around 200 chalk streams in the world, and most of them are in England. You’ll find them mainly in southern and eastern England, especially in counties such as Hampshire, Wiltshire, Kent and Norfolk. Famous examples include the Test, Itchen, Kennet and Lambourn. They are an extraordinary part of our countryside, rare, fragile, and worth protecting. Had you seen a chalk stream before? #EnglishLandscape #EnglishCountryside #EnglishHeritage

@Jimbo3DC @RepMaxwellFrost US fish and wildlife service would have approved the import permit. You should talk to them too, if sloths are covered under CITES.

I am appalled to hear about the 31 sloths who died under the “care” of the not yet opened Sloth World in Orlando. These sloths — naturally solitary animals — were put in the worst conditions possible. They were taken from their natural habitats to a packed warehouse that wasn’t properly heated and allowed for the spread of deadly viruses, leading to a stress-induced death. My office is looking into this tragedy, and we will coordinate with local officials to determine how to best move forward. fox35orlando.com/news/31-sloths…

The Husky

In 1934, a wealthy New York socialite did something that baffled the locals in rural Pennsylvania. She walked into a real estate office and leased a mountain just to evict them. Her name was Rosalie Edge, and she was 57 years old. At the time, Kittatinny Ridge was known locally as "The Slaughterhouse." Every fall, thousands of hawks, falcons, and eagles migrated along the ridge, riding the air currents south for the winter. But waiting for them were hundreds of men with shotguns and easy targets. It wasn't hunting for food; it was slaughter for sport. The ground was often carpeted with the rotting bodies of magnificent birds, while many others were left wounded to die slowly in the brush. The state of Pennsylvania actually encouraged it, even paying a $5 bounty on goshawks. Predators were seen as "vermin" that threatened chickens and game birds, and the general consensus was that they should be wiped out. Even the National Audubon Society refused to intervene, telling Mrs. Edge that protecting hawks simply wasn't a priority. She was furious. She famously stated, "The time to save a species is while it is still common." But she didn't just write letters—she took action. She founded the Emergency Conservation Committee, and when established conservation groups wouldn't buy the land to stop the shooting, she did it herself. She secured a lease on 1,400 acres of the ridge and hired a warden, Maurice Broun, to guard it. When the hunters arrived that season, expecting their usual sport, they found "No Trespassing" signs and a determined woman and her warden blocking the path. The shooting gallery was officially closed. The hunters were angry. There were threats against her life and promises of violence, but Mrs. Edge stood firm, relying on her legal rights as a private property holder. She turned a place of death into the world’s first sanctuary for birds of prey. She understood the value of predators, the delicate balance of the ecosystem, and the future of conservation. Her sanctuary, Hawk Mountain, later provided the crucial data that proved the dangers of DDT. Without her stubbornness, we might have lost the bald eagle entirely. Rosalie Edge proved that a single citizen with a lease and a backbone can change the course of history.

Clarissa ❤️❤️💔💔 This beautiful older lady came into our care just over a week ago, and she has already stolen our hearts ❤️❤️ At 18 years of age, she should be enjoying comfort and kindness, not fighting to recover from such neglect and cruelty 💔💔 She arrived emaciated, with poor teeth, a heavy worm burden, and rain scald covering her fragile boney back. No horse deserves to live in this condition without someone noticing, without someone stepping in. And yet, despite everything she’s endured, Clarissa is the sweetest soul. Gentle, kind, and trusting, her soft beautiful eyes say more than words ever could. If only they could tell her story 💔💔💔 Point to the person who did this 😡😡😡😡 We are giving her all the care, comfort, and love she deserves, but we can’t do it alone. Please support MLHR so we can continue to fight for horses like Clarissa, because every one of them deserves a second chance at a life filled with dignity and care ❤️💔 donate.mylovelyhorserescue.com/one-off/ Thank you ❤️❤️❤️❤️
