@CanaryMugume That's very true bro. Canary & very ashaming for us as Ugandans with such fertile soils, 2good rainny seasons, plenty farm inputs and energetic population... finding our Kisenyi & Kafumbemukasa traders stranded waiting for rice, maize & beans from TZ, G-nuts from Malawi etc🤦.

Bought Irish potatoes the other day, and randomly asked the vendor where she gets the potatoes from, and she shocked me; Kenya. What do you mean you have potatoes from Kenya on a Ugandan market, I thought we was the basket of food in the region? ‘Potatoes from Kisoro & Kabale are no longer on the market,’ she told me.

I have come to realise we present very wonderful proposals on paper BUT implement almost zero ! Just thinking about cleaniliness in Our Cities and towns; simple bylaws compelling every one to pool his or her own gabbage for easy disposal at a low fee would do wonders!

But, what’s Andrew Mwenda’s full time job? Like he’s always everywhere . Today he’s with MK , carrying his briefcase, tomorrow he’s on TV lying to the country , next day he’s the PR to the Sudhir family and giving updates on the death and burial plans of the late Rajiv. (RIP)

Rarely do I pick on politics but I am compelled to salute the Guild President of Makarere for 2 reasons; 1. He calmly waited and received all the bashing from different sides when his photo with President Museveni surfaced. He could have rushed to respond, but he paused, waited and arranged a press conference this morning after 4 days! 2. At the press conference, he again showed maturity while clarifying why he took the photo with the president and still protected his father who rushed to condemn him for performing his duties. Sober leaders from either sides are rare. Kudos Churchill.

I’ve always told everyone how politics isn’t for the faint hearted. Abandoning a paying job to go into elective politics is such a bold sacrifice. I’m always disheartened when dunderheads laugh at candidates who lose elections. I’ve been there and I have a story. So happy to see my colleagues giving it a shot. Carry our flag and God speed.

They have so far completed one block and we hope to have another one completed by the time schools reopen so that we start next year. My village has a very high dropout rate. Not many children persevere and endure the long distance. The girls get married at 15. Most of them don’t even stay in these marriages they come back home with children they can’t afford to raise.

When I finished P.7, my parents couldn’t afford school fees in far off secondary schools. There was a private school that had just opened about 8kms a way from home and it’s the one my mother could afford b’se the head mistress had allowed her to pay for my sisters and I in installments. I had to walk 8kms everyday at the age of 13. We would wake up at 4am and be on the road by 5. The people of my community in Ngoma are aspiring to save other young kids from this suffering by building a secondary school in our village. They have been at it for about 8 months. The men build and the women cook for them and play other supporting roles. I would like to request for your support and we give them a hand. We have an official fundraiser on 22nd December please contribute for us🙏You are also welcome to our village on that day🤗

There is evidence that our rural people are eating tortoises. Someone has to be arrested and prosecuted for eating tortoises. Is it love for meat or??? At this rate, man will eat anything. Animals need our help. @animals_african @SaveWildlife12

Congratulations my brother Rt. Hon.@Thomas_Tayebwa on your significant election as East Africa’s Representative to the Organisation of Africa, Caribbean and Pacific Countries Parliamentary Group in Luanda, Angola. This is a confirmation of your firm Pan African credentials. The trust colleagues in the region and continent have shown in you is a true reflection of your commitment to the African cause. Thank you again for hoisting the Parliament and National flag high in Parliamentary Diplomacy.

I spent the afternoon at Kololo with the security forces thanking them for their excellent work during the NAM and G77+ China summits. It's essential to recognise that our ability to manage and celebrate this achievement is mainly due to the NRM’s doctrine on security. The success can be attributed in part to our strategy of army building, which emphasises patriotism over careerism. We don't join the army or police for money! We are soldiers and peace officers first and foremost because of our love for Uganda. This doctrine has allowed us to recruit large numbers.
