You don't make noise when you aren't the only one present.

Why do Nigerians feel the need to be the spokesperson for anything on immigration? Like why?? Aren’t there Asians, Europeans there too? Lots of nuisances in these conversations… They know who they are directing it to, you’re not their target audience, it’s the companies that decides who they want not them. Africans in the diaspora, Nigerians especially.we seriously need to learn how to collaborate and become a genuine community that truly looks out for one another. I want to see an African community that doesn’t throw its own people under the bus at the slightest opportunity just to gain impressions online or validation from outsiders. We must emancipate ourselves from mental slavery. What many people don’t realize is that an African man or woman living abroad is already fighting silent battles. In many places, just your presence alone raises unnecessary suspicion. History has shown us that sometimes, simply existing as a Black person in certain societies is enough to make you disliked, regardless of whether you’re legal, educated, hardworking, or law-abiding. That’s why we must learn to be our brother’s keeper instead of participating in public self-humiliation for clout. Look at many Asian immigrant communities, They are among the largest immigrant populations in Western countries, yet you rarely see them publicly tearing each other apart or constantly degrading their countries of origin for validation. We have so much to learn. As immigrants, we must become better ambassadors, not fake people, but conscious people. There’s already a narrative attached to Blackness in many places. It’s our responsibility not to reinforce those stereotypes while still remaining authentically ourselves. At some point, we must realize that collaboration is survival. We need to build together, Protect each other, Share opportunities, Create networks, Put each other on, It’s about time, please I’m begging you 😩🙏
