Whether people agree or disagree with Ronald Lamola, one thing is becoming clear: the world is watching what is happening in South Africa.
When government officials, international organizations and even foreign governments start openly discussing violence, hostility towards African migrants and governance failures, that's not a good look for us 🇿🇦.
Many South Africans are frustrated about unemployment, crime and poor service delivery - and those frustrations are real.
But blaming every foreign African for South Africa's problems is not a solution. These illegals didn't bring themselves here.
The real causes of our crisis are corruption, state failure, poor economic growth and years of bad governance.
What worries me is that this conversation is becoming increasingly polarized.
Instead of focusing on fixing borders, enforcing immigration laws and creating jobs, people are turning on one another while politicians escape accountability.
It's not going to end well for South Africa if we continue down this road. We can protect our borders, enforce our laws and put South Africans first without promoting hatred against fellow Africans.
Once a country becomes known for hostility and instability, everyone loses - including ordinary South Africans.
