Just so everyone knows, Sunak and his crony pals are the ones who have failed to oversee the abuses by HMRC in a whole manner of areas, including the #loancharge and #ir35. Mel Stride was Sunaks campaign manager for PM, when Sunak was Chancellor. Sunaks welcome move to resolve the PO scandal needs to extend to the mounting scandals at HMRC.

An example of the way @HMRCgovuk treats ppl it hounds @carolvorders. You may also be interested to learn that when a public body such as HMRC has a "customer" commit suicide (as at least 10 facing #LoanCharge have) they are asked by @policeconduct to investigate themselves 🤷♀️

@Stephen41792571 I will email today about #LoanCharge and the overpayment of £5,000 of tax my late husband paid while harassed by HMRC when he lost his speech whilst suffering from a brain tumour, not paid back yet.

When HMRC issues a tax bill, making a taxpayer tax guilty, you can ask for a Statutory review, which is done by HMRC who mark their own homework. If that fails you can file a compliant, and HMRc mark their own homework. If that fails, you have to appeal to court, and if you win, HMRC will carry on appealing to grind you down - just like they are doing with @kayeadams . It’s an abuse of power. Given the translucent oversight by Treasury Ministers, we need to start naming the civil servants - because Ministers are useless.
