i'm a few days late to realizing this but: wow, opus 4.7 is god awful like so, so bad it's making mistakes on things i'd expect gpt-4o to handle cleanly there's got to be some explanation, right?

In 2006 a high school English teacher asked students to write to a famous author & ask for advice. KURT VONNEGUT (who left us 19yrs ago today) was the only one to respond. His reply was a doozy.

When your working life rewards you, it’s easy to ratchet up the complexity: homes, cars, travel, possessions etc. I have found that all that complexity comes at the sake of your most fleeting asset: your time. Instead of building things, all of a sudden you’re dealing with minutiae and logistics. Instead of talking mostly to engineers, you’re talking mostly to non-engineers. The building stops…the business of managing self inflicted complexity begins. It’s worth noting that the best players in the game (Buffett, Elon) have kept their life extremely basic, almost monastic/nomadic, as success ratcheted them ever higher. I think it’s the biggest secret hiding in plain sight: When the world upgrades your status, downgrade your complexity.

You have two choices: 1. This is the beginning of the end of the AI replacement cycle. Everything up until now was false alarms and mis/disinformation. You can start to scale back into these companies because, once the noise subsides, these companies are durable and will be around roughly in the same or better position in 10 years. 2. This is the beginning of the beginning of the AI replacement cycle. Customer churn slowly ticks up. NDR slowly ticks down, RPO begins to be discounted - initially by a little, then by a lot. SBC gets minimized, FCF gets maximized. Valuations become exercised in seeing which assumptions are reliable and which are unreliable - all roads lead to more vol an a general downward trend on price and multiples. Good luck to all the players.

"most striking findings" 😂 Unbelievable. Read Satoshi on Bitcointalk, read Back on this platform. There's differences in style, intonation, typos, sentence construction... Back is often horrible to read and understand (sorry Adam, but it's true I'm afraid), contrary to Satoshi.

Netanyahu ispanya'yı açıkça tehdit ediyor: "Bunun bedelini ödemek üzeresiniz. İspanya İsrail’e karşı durduktan hemen sonra yaşanan elektrik kesintilerini ve gizemli tren kazalarını asla unutmayın.” Ne diyor bu? İspanya içinde terör saldırıları yapacaklarını söylüyor. Dünya bunu böyle not etmeli. Ve İspanya'nın cevabı: "Sizi karalamıyoruz, tanımlıyoruz: Siz soykırımcı ve suçlu bir rejimsiniz. Hepiniz Uluslararası Ceza Mahkemesi'nin önüne çıkacaksınız."

Bitcoin's superpower is moving value through time. Digital gold across generations. Right now the market is pricing that quantum risk destroys that property. You can argue it's overblown but it doesn't matter. The perception is the threat. A clear PQ migration plan fixes this overnight. Ship it.

“BTC uses too much energy.” There’s only 3 ways to secure a monetary ledger. - with atoms (gold) - with energy (BTC) - with social / political consensus (fiat) Energy is the only path to unbreakable hard money. There’s no scarcity of atoms.

The sad truth many won't want to hear: #Bitcoin is far from being perfect. Yet, after my 3 months of sabbatical and seeing some stuff, I believe more than ever that Bitcoin is the best shot we currently have to fix some of the mess in the world...

Going to start spending time on this personally - seems like we all need to solve it sooner rather than later.

The latest quantum papers from Google and Caltech are an important signal for the industry. Timelines are still debated, but the time to act is now. The good news: post-quantum cryptography exists. This is a solvable problem, and many chains already have roadmaps. Bitcoin needs to catch up though. The bad news: post-quantum cryptography is relatively new and it would be fairly easy to create new security risks if implementation is rushed. The industry needs to align on what happens to wallets that fail to migrate before a CRQC appears. At Coinbase, we’ve been working on this for a while, auditing and upgrading our internal infrastructure, researching post-quantum cryptography and establishing a Quantum Advisory Council. It’s clear Bitcoin needs to make some fast progress here, so Coinbase is taking the role of rallying the troops and getting the right people in the room - Bitcoin core devs and the broader community - so they can start tackling this. But no one developer or company can do this alone. Real progress will require coordinated action across the ecosystem. If you’re working on post-quantum approaches for Bitcoin, we want to support you, and connect you with others that are working on it too. Please DM me directly and I’ll get you added to the working group. Bitcoin can and will upgrade, but it will take the entire community working together.

@NorthstarCharts @WOLF_Bitcoin_ Love what you do, but it’s hard to ignore the price-insensitive buying from DATS, especially MSTR. Makes it clear BTC price action can’t be driven purely by TA going forward...right? RIGHT?!
