In terms of system, deployment, etc., what is the case for Lindy Ruff winning the Jack Adams? The narrative case is obvious (drought, comeback after bad start, vibes etc.) but does it go deeper than that? Especially since he was the coach last year when they were crummy.

@hype_heff @Ben_Mathewson lol, what do you mean “who cares?” Obviously a lot of people do. Obviously it’s a choice if you want to pay it or not, the point is it sucks that fans can’t get access to those tickets because people are buying them exclusively to resell for massive profit.

@HereToTail @Ben_Mathewson I used my exclusive access to buy tickets for my friends who are huge fans. They paid me back face value. The 2% of tickets that are up for resale, who cares. If someone wants to pay that price they can. It’s a choice you make whether you want to pay it or not.

I don't blame people for taking a big profit off of reselling tickets especially if they've had season tickets for awhile. But broadly it feels like a very uncontroversial opinion that there should be a cap on how much a ticket can be resold for like 10%-20% over face value.

@Ben_Mathewson So should there be a cap on how much you can lose per ticket? I have full seasons that cost $118 per seat per game. If I cant make it to a game I’ve had to sell those seats for as low as $30 when the Sabres were horrible. I’ve lost thousands. The real fans are the STH.

There are going to be a lot of frustrated Sabres fans. Season ticket holders control ticket inventory, and rightly so! The die-hard fans that made a finacial commitment to this team are being rewarded for sticking with the team during the rebuilding years. It also allows the Sabres to incentivize future season ticket holders to grow their financial season ticket base.

The illegal immigration issue is not difficult or complex or nuanced. If they came here illegally, they need to leave. That's it. End of story. "But what if they've been here for 10 years???" They need to leave. "But what if they haven't committed any other crimes???" Leave. "But what if they have a family???" Leave. This isn't hard at all. We have laws in this country. You broke the law. You don't belong here. Nothing personal. But get the hell out. It should not be hard for elected Republicans to articulate this point. If they do have trouble articulating it -- if they take any position on illegal immigration except for this -- they can also go. That's not complicated either.
