Most people in the Netherlands recognize this case as a carbon copy of the Lucia de Berk case. This MoJ led to major changes in the legal system in my country.

@michael73798531 One of the witch hunters told me that Lucia de Berk the Dutch nurse in a case very similar to Lucy Letby’s was actually guilty too. Lucia de Berk was officially declared innocent, she received apologies from the highest person in the CPS and the relevant minister.

Especially women in cases of no crime convictions. The Sally Clark and Suzanne Holdsworth cases would have been ignored without the work of journalists like John Sweeney. 1/2

They suffered a grave injustice, and their convictions were eventually quashed because the confession evidence and disclosure failures rendered them unsafe. That was the result of sustained legal work, not a marketing campaign.

Without publicity it goes like this, you are convicted, your appeal is denied and that is the end of it.

They and the Maquire 7 served another 12 to 15 years AFTER the Balcome Street ASU told police they were also responsible for the Guilford bombings and there were 11 totally innocent people in jail. 1/2

If someone covers a football match on the radio and says “the match is still in progress I will tell you the result once it is finished” it might at a pinch be a report on progress but it is certainly not a running commentary.
