@NotoriousS1Q3T3 Congratulations on adding Gabby to the family! My daughter adopted 2 kittens while in med school. They helped keep her grounded during tough times. Also, indoor cats are easy to maintain with the crazy hours. She will be a welcome companion during residency. ❤️

So…I did a thing. Everyone say hi to Gabby, my adorable 7 month old calico tripod! She was found as a stray and brought to the shelter where they found her distal right humerus to be broken, and it would have resulted in a nonunion when healing, prompting them to amputate the limb. My best friend here in NC fostered her, and right around the week of the Match she brought her with her to a night out at our favorite watering hole just to socialize her as she does with all the animals she fosters—I had no idea at the time that she was even fostering this kitten. I fell in love with Gabby at first sight. I had never met such a naturally sweet, cuddly cat who is so well-behaved and who literally laid in my arms purring for hours at this noisy brewery without a care in the world. And despite still being only a few weeks past the amputation at the time, she didn’t let anything stop her, hopping around without missing a beat and not letting her disability define her! I recently finalized the adoption while my friend continued to foster her, and now she is finally with her fur-ever daddy. I wasn’t planning on getting my first pet anytime soon, but sometimes you just know when something is meant to be. She’s a special girl, and as much as she needed me, I think I needed her even more as I begin this new chapter with moving to NY in just a few weeks. Can’t wait for our upcoming adventures! 🥰

I made this bed frame more than 30 years ago. It’s in an Art Nouveau style, it represent the four seasons. The winter element is a crystal ball. It now belongs to Human2 and she loves it.

sober selfie. as many of you know, I white-knuckled two years of sobriety before relapsing. but since starting a GLP-1 back in Feb, I’ve had zero desire to drink. a lifetime of struggle is gone. it almost feels like cheating, but maybe everything doesn’t have to be so hard.

Nick’s surgery was a success! They went in through his lower eyelid (no visible suture line) & fixed the fracture by placing a dissolvable plate. He’s swollen & bruised, but able to open his eye. His vision remains intact. Staying overnight as a precaution & will d/c in the am.

Update: I was received with love and kindness by the boys in my HS 50th reunion class of 76. In one of the hallways there was a poster with a quote from one of my books, about finding courage. One of the most powerful and joyful experiences of my life.

I have a birthday coming up soon my Twits .. The other day I was in the jewellers getting my charm bracelet fixed , because the safety chain has broken, Now I know I’m blonde and don’t have very many good ideas 💡🤭 But I suddenly had a brain wave So on the family group chat, I asked all my children .. ( all five of them ,) to buy me a charm for my charm bracelet for my birthday that reminds them of me. I hate new jewellery so I’ve asked for secondhand charms. There are thousands on eBay. My charm bracelet is silver, So I only want silver charms and they start from about £5 each so not expensive .. And will last a lot longer than flowers and chocolates. I am so insanely excited to see what they will all come up with and what reminds them of me Who thinks this is a good idea?

@heatherellaxo I’m so very sorry for your loss of your beloved grandmother. May her memory be a blessing.

A lot of you know that I take care of my grandmother, living with her and making sure she can live the remainder of her life out without a nursing home. I’ve poured my heart into taking care of her with her congestive heart failure getting worse. This morning my Nana left our world. She was the last grandparent I had left and by far the one I was closest to. Her last words to me were that she loved me. We will all miss you so so much.
