In an interview, US constitutional lawyer Robert Barnes, a friend of JD Vance, said: “Trump began exhibiting signs of early dementia in September 2025. He frequently confabulates, routinely loses his temper, unleashes screaming rants, and is incapable of doing critical thinking.” And – according to Barnes, in this state – “Trump genuinely believes that the U.S. has vanquished #Iran and does not comprehend the massive economic damage that the closure of the Strait of Hormuz is doing to the global economy.” In short, Barnes says “Trump is unable to comprehend reality.” Trump’s biographer, Michael Wolff: “Trump has no plan. He doesn’t know what’s going on. He’s not capable of formulating a plan. He likes to create Media cliffhangers. Trump: “No one knows what I am going to do next. So, everyone is afraid of me..." Wolf: “Nothing happens without emanating from him. And that changes on a moment-by-moment basis. The only metric that matters for Trump is to be seen as a winner.” But Trump has no strategy - bombing is not a strategy. And Iran is able, prepared to defend itself until the US runs out of bombs; until the global economy is on life support. With clearly articulated strategic goals, Iran is not "begging for a deal" and insists it will have a say on how and when the war ends. #IranWar

The Black Book of Communism (1997) is the most comprehensive account ever compiled of communism’s crimes in the 20th century. Drawing on newly opened archives from the Soviet Union, China, Cambodia, Vietnam, North Korea, Eastern Europe, Africa and Latin America, the book delivers a devastating conclusion: communist regimes were responsible for the deaths of 100 million people. The numbers are broken down country by country: 20 million in the Soviet Union (executions, Gulags, engineered famines), 65 million in Mao’s China (Great Leap Forward, Cultural Revolution, Laogai camps), 2 million in Cambodia under Pol Pot, and millions more in places like North Korea, Ethiopia and Afghanistan. These were not unfortunate side-effects or accidents. They resulted from deliberate policies - class-based mass murder, forced collectivization, political purges, and totalitarian control - rooted in Marxist-Leninist ideology itself. Stéphane Courtois and his team of historians argue that communism’s utopian promise of a classless society required the systematic destruction of “enemies of the people”, turning the state into a killing machine on an industrial scale. Published after the fall of the Soviet empire, The Black Book remains the definitive ledger of communism’s human cost - a sobering reminder that no ideology promising heaven on earth has ever delivered anything but mass graves.

A new study of U.S. temperatures from 1899 to 2025 uses 40 million daily records across 1,211 stations It finds extremes have declined. The most intense heat remains in the 1930s. In 1936, about 22% of stations recorded all-time highs. No modern year comes close. Heat waves peak between 1930 and 1944, then drop and only partly recover. The long-term trend is flat to down. Cold extremes also decline, but mostly at night. This is largely a product of urbanization over the decades, which traps heat and so lifts overnight lows. Overall, the extreme temperature burden is down about 30%. U.S. temperatures are less extreme today, not more.
