@Rainmaker1973 More like Steve Jobs on the year 1994. A lot has changed in just these 3 short decades, including the baseline for altruism and reciprocity.
According to Grok, AdSense is only the tip of the iceberg, and many of the established reviewers proactively solicit cash payments on top of the already free gear. Can anyone with receipts attest to this ... or is it taboo 👀
It's been a relaxing 4-5 months since I was approached to showcase anything new. Went to get some filament for an off-camera project, and suddenly there's an X2D chilling under my box of Tectonic drivers.
@mypeopoly@Voron_Design I've crossed paths with a "Giga" or two before. Woefully slow. Here's hoping that the speed of this machine scales with the build volume.
The more reproach I receive for tossing my old speakers, the more curious I become about everyone else's trash day routine. What wheels do you put into motion before you drag anything out to the curb? Is there some web listing of locals who will come around and pick through your non-recyclables? Some pro bono raffle / fundraising entity? I'm all ears.
"Why am I in cuffs because of something he shared, then I shared?"
"Because someone has been caused anxiety based upon your social media post. That's why you've been arrested."
This right here should scare the living sh*t out of you. These two sentences alone. We have a lot of work to do.
@HexiBase I’m surprised that no one saw the speakers and picked them up. Every time I leave old speakers I’m not using at the curb; they disappear within 12 hours.
@Gizmologist_ You know what they say: One man's trash is another man's treasure. I'm sure that something I'd absolutely love to have is getting tossed even as we speak; and likely without a second thought. That's just normal.
I think you underestimate the value of your own builds. What you threw away is considered high-end in the eyes of enthusiasts. You could have given them away to a subscriber. But beyond that. In my opinion, your latest build should be featured at CES with some of your other projects in conjunction with a sponsor.
In practice, this would mean registering as a non-profit, building a system to collect entries, defining terms, pricing, eligibility, handling duplicates, promoting a raffle, coordinating a transparent drawing, verifying & contacting the winner, followed by some extensive packaging. Or I can just put it outside 🤷♂️
