18 years ago today, I created the HexiBase account on YouTube: No monetization, no custom thumbnails, 10-minute video limits, 5-star ratings, and a "high definition" of 360p. It was the "Wild West" era, and just about everyone who posted their vids back then has long since dropped off. (The average life span of a successful YouTube channel is only about 5-7 years.) As part of the old guard, HexiBase nearly triples that; simultaneously accruing a whopping 140K subscribers (and 200 followers on X) in what has proven to be a uniquely low-uptake, algorithmically secluded niche. I feel no burnout, so perhaps another 5-7 years of posting into the void before I move on as well.
