Those who demonize his power fail to mention WHY he has this power in the first place: because the people vested it in him, repeatedly and with greater conviction at every turn.
When the public has this degree of trust in you, you get to control the entirety of the state, and you get to do it with the blessing of your people.
Ironically, the country the media calls a “dictatorship” might be the most functional democracy we have today.

No matter the poll, Bukele's approval rating is nearly always over 90%. In the last three polls, it's 93%, 93%, and 94%. I've never seen anything like this. We need to study this regime. The international community has massively underestimated the importance of public order.
