My advice to designers: Learn to ship your own code. I've never met a designer who regretted being able to build their own work. But I've met a lot who watched their best ideas die the moment they got handed off to a dev backlog. The further your design travels from your own hands, the less of it survives.

I think "personal branding" has confused a lot of founders. They're spending hours designing content strategies while customers are sitting on product pages with unanswered questions. Audience growth is great. Revenue growth is better.

@crimsonmarketer this is such a good filter. if the copy could belong to anyone, it belongs to no one.

An easy way to improve your product page: Remove every sentence that could apply to 100 competitors. If another brand can copy-paste your messaging onto their site, it's probably too generic to persuade anyone.
