@HeyhoShoop93117 @TAFEdefender That sounds like a paid advertisement for the Labor party. It’s not rocket science to see how the health system is failing. Forget about the few clinics they have opened, look at hospitals and ambulance services.

@AnnetteJack6 @TAFEdefender Ooooh, buddy. I dont think you can talk about rocket science! The health system, especially in rural areas is only there because of migrants, the very people you vilify. Can Labor do more? Yes, but you divisive numpties sook like mutherfuckers at anything Murdoch tell you too.

also re: CGT outrage, it’s also the implication that business owners have a harder go than people who work in them and therefore should be entitled to concessions that REALLY does my head in oh my god should we die

@ChiCroDamir Gen X has never had wide leg jeans as a trend. We are the 80's generation when jeans were classic and straight. And then we were in college when grunge happening - absolutely no wide leg nonsense.

I know this is the most Gen X thing to say ever, but bring back skinny jeans. Or at least straight leg. These wide bottom jeans are just ridiculous. Let's move on. ✌️

@cosmicjester I'd like dumb phones for kids up to 16 yo. Keep social media on desktops/laptops. Theyre easier to keep an eye on. Agree with phone bans in school. The kids are often circumventing the social media bans, so I dont think its an effective policy.

This puts me at odds with like 95% of people on Twitter but I think phone bans in schools and age bans on social media are (generally) good and will be vindicated in time. 16 might be a year or two too high (14 probably the better age).
Kate Ferguson@kateferguson4

EXCL: Sir Keir Starmer is expected to ban social media for under 16s. A government consultation on curbs ends on Tuesday & no final decision will be taken until after that. But I understand No10 policy chiefs have privately said they expect a total ban thesun.co.uk/news/39197313/…

@FalseProphet138 @TAFEdefender It does indeed need quite a bit of attention, and it's hard to see a path forward when the rhetoric thrown around is so divisive and actively works to stop people for working for common good.

@MatthewSco50098 @BrissyBella84 @cosmicjester In short, all governments apply policies that influence markets according to their particular philosophy. Ain't nothing natural about it. It is always, always, always influenced/managed by some humans in some way.

@DavidShoebridge The 1% pay between 17-20% of the taxes. It's how the money is spent that is the issue.

Homelessness is a policy choice and a policy failure. As the 1% don't have to pay their fair share, everyone else is suffering. Societies don't work when a few hoard the wealth of the many. smh.com.au/national/a-mot…

@HeyhoShoop93117 @BrissyBella84 @cosmicjester Well obviously they are. We live in a world of supply and demand where we buy and sell property be it lemonade or houses. If your product is popular, people will buy it for price dictated by market forces. If the price is too high, there will be no buyers even if it wanted.

Watching the sheep voting for the abattoir against their own interests illustrates why truth in political advertising is essential in a healthy democracy. People for whom the proposed legislation will have zero affect have been convinced they will be victims. Sigh. #insiders

@BrissyBella84 @cosmicjester Buying property is always a risk in a free market, as many who invested in mining towns have found out to their detriment, but in this case, the government is introducing artificial factors to the market that have the potential to lower values across the board. That's not natural

The problem with these types of tax reforms is that the people who they affect have the loudest voices & the people it benefits don't have a voice. They aren't invited to appear on @TheTodayShow or @sunriseon7 every fucking day like the privileged few are. 😠😠 #insiders

@nicksamios @strangerous10 Would have loved wider reform, companies are not doing their fair share, but top 10% hold how much of the wealth in this country? 50% seems a little one the low side.

"I think you need to take a Valium, take a Bex and have a lie down," Mr Petre told ABC News. A much-needed reality check for the ultra-wealthy crying about having to pay their fair share. Thank you Mr Petre. #auspol

@slimstert @strangerous10 Much more! Cou tries where there is a smaller gap between the richest and the poorest have less crime and generally happier. Being rich seems to make people into miserable bastards, so its for their own good really 😆
