Happy and Healthy athletes are a cheat code. They get better, they want to be there, and they progress. Flip it around and it's miserable. Sad, angry, irritated players don't have fun. Injured, sick, overtrained, over tired athletes are walking wounded. Both of those groups get better for a while, and then they get hurt and regress. They have a good week, and then a REALLY bad time. They get to a point and quit. If you want to look like a genius: teach your athletes skills while they are happy, healthy, and growing.

The single most important job of any youth sport coach is to make sure the kids have so much fun that they come back to play the next season. It's embarrassing how much that gets overlooked in 2025.

Reverse Leg Press > Bulgarian Squat You should reverse press 1.5 times your body mass, if not you are under powered. I realize other exercises exist and some machines are available but this is the most accessible option. If you want acceleration abilities, employ it weekly.

Cross Country is a great metaphor for life. From the outside, it looks like an individual sport. A bunch of people running their own race. But in reality, it's a team sport. The sooner we embrace the team aspect, the better we perform, and the more joy and connection we create.

Ankle posture is EVERYTHING. But running and jumping on your toes is so commonly coached it kills players shins health, Achilles and Robustness. When players figure this out they run faster and increase running economy @chrisbramah @Gareth_Sandford Suggesting to a population of ultimate jumpers ( NBA players and coaches ) that they could improve in how they manage the collisions with the ground m, could be considered bold and audacious. Yet @DanielBove’s crew have blown my mind in how seriously open minded they are.
