@RepCDMenefee Those arguments don't make sense. For example, for roads, each person pays for a share of roads that they use and benefit from. Hospitals are private, and make a s*** ton of profit. We should expect a congressman to know these things.

@JoshPhillipsPhD It's about betting on their future. Greater chance of getting scholarships. Even to private high schools now. Pros and cons, definitely but it's a reality now.

@JoshPhillipsPhD Kids don't make the high school teams now unless they have trained in private clubs before.

@JoshPhillipsPhD Even rec leagues are becoming a racket. My 9yo is playing house league baseball (Canada) and it's $350 for the season. Plus you have to have your own bat and helmet (the helmet I understand). Flipping bats are $125.

This is straight up parents wanting their kids to go pro. I don't feel sorry for ppl paying this much, they choose to do it unnecessarily. Go outside with your kid, play catch, teach them how to bat, practice with them. If they have the talent and drive, they will get the opportunity (I've had 2 cousins signed to the minors, both just played school and summer leagues only). If they don't have the talent and drive, AND the luck of being seen, they are going to need a real job - and that's not a bad thing.

@JoshPhillipsPhD Or just focus on academics and life skills (which, fine, include golf and racquet sports). Novel concept that academics should be the priority.

4 varsity letters, never saw parents at any meet or game. I now live in the South. We close Main St to parade when kids win a sport. The new $70,000 VR lab was closed because of no parent or teacher involvement. The new $800,000 robotics lab was never used outside of class no after school robotics club because "it wouldn't be fair to my kids who play sports after school "

Kids (and teachers), stay in school today. Hurting your own (and your students') educations is never going to be a solution to a problem. Rather, you're just being used as useful pawn.

THIS NEEDS MORE ATTENTION‼️ I’ve had to cut off every Trump supporter in my life. Not out of anger. Out of self-preservation. You can’t selectively ignore the brutalization of Black people and still call yourself my friend. The administration you support has made its position on Black voices, rights, and influence abundantly clear, and so have you. Trump’s administration must be removed. Trump is both a civil rights and economic nightmare. He is intentionally harming people. Everything that comes out of his mouth is toxic, selfish, irrational, incompetent, and crude. #SCOTUS #Maga #Trump #Iran

@FrankC164 @AP Actually, it means white people controlling the state, can't lump black people to a concentrated district making it impossible for them to have voting influence in any other districts.

@AP This means Black voters don’t get to decide who represents Black districts, someone else gets to draw the lines and control the outcome. Meanwhile, nobody’s telling white districts that their representation gets decided by outsiders

@lee68633_lee @SenFettermanPA Being less mean about, SNAP should nutritional and "supplement assistance". Yes, it should ONLY cover the basics. Nothing ng wrong with food that tastes good though.

@SenFettermanPA SNAP/EBT recipients should only be allowed to buy bland tasteless food. If I'm paying....it's unflavored rice cakes, chicken legs, no seasonings, and tap water. You want something that taste good, get a fucking job.

SNAP to include HOT ROTISSERIE CHICKEN. 384-35! Doesn’t only include my crew’s favorite + affordable $4.99 Costco rotisserie 😜 — but ANY hot rotisserie. Feeding families: a (rotisserie) chicken in every pot. 🇺🇸

@SenFettermanPA What an accomplishment. That is sarcasm. I have no problem with delicious, nutritious rotisserie chicken, but this needs to be an SnL skit.

@FinancialPhys @Hitchslap1 They only have love for kids on sports scholarships. I don't know any parents who tell me about their kids academics, but they constantly about a meaningless sport. Or play martyr, like all the driving and attending for their kids sports.

Society should identify high IQ children as early as possible, then put them to work solving the world’s problems. What could be more important?
