Bernie’s statement may be old news, but it perfectly captures the core pathologies of modern leftism: • Empty platitudes everyone already agrees with, minus any engagement with reality or tradeoffs. • At best, a shallow reading of history; at worst, selective storytelling or outright fabrication to assign permanent moral guilt. • An absurd, and frankly racist, U.S.-centric lens that denies agency to everyone else. If you have to go back 73 years and stretch events beyond recognition, so be it. • Pure wishcasting: delusional and cartoonishly naïve, yet emotionally satisfying and utopian (“Staaaahp the violence. Will everyone just be nice pretty please 🥺“). • Dismissing the ONLY possible solution for failing a moral purity test, while offering no serious alternative. An utterly unproductive and out of touch worldview!
