We stand with sexual abuse survivors and are resolute in our commitment to farmworkers. “We are deeply shaken by the allegations of sexual abuse against César Chávez, and we unequivocally stand with the survivors. As an organization rooted in the dignity, empowerment, and protection of the Latino community, we are clear: no legacy, title, or historical contribution places anyone beyond accountability.”

@HispanicFedPR

Recently, a group of Congressmembers, led by Senators Martin Heinrich and Patty Murray in the Senate and Resident Commissioner Pablo José Hernandez in the House, wrote to US Secretary of Energy Wright, opposing the cancellation of the Puerto Rico Energy Resilience Fund (PR-ERF) and demanding its reinstatement. On January 9, 2026, the US Department of Energy (DOE) cancelled $350 million in PR-ERF awards, leaving more than 12,000 families who had been promised a solar energy and battery system in limbo. These funds had been approved by Congress to install resilient solar energy for low-income families in Puerto Rico, especially those who have disabilities and medical conditions that depend on electricity to power life-saving devices.  Puerto Rico has a higher rate of power outages than any of the 50 states, putting electro-dependent families in PR at high risk. Thank you to the Senators and Representatives who are taking a stand to defend the PR-ERF and families in Puerto Rico. Read the full letter below: energy.senate.gov/2026/2/ranking…

We were honored to stand alongside fierce advocates who are working to ensure the experiences of impacted communities in #MN are heard and archived in public records. We also joined community members at a memorial honoring Alex Pretti, the ICU nurse who was killed by federal agents. At HF, we remain committed to defending the dignity, civil rights, and safety of our most vulnerable communities and uplifting the voices of those harmed by these policies. This hearing is being recorded and livestreamed on our YouTube channel. Click the link below to view the livestream. The link will be updated in the coming days to highlight a playlist of the testimony that was presented. hispanicfederation.org/event/the-peop…

Under Kristi Noem, DHS faced serious concerns about its ability to both protect people and safeguard our communities. Hispanic Federation has demanded Kristi Noem's firing for months with good reason... Noem’s termination marks the end of troubling chapters at DHS, however this is only the beginning. Read HF’s response in the graphic below and join us in continuing to demand DHS Oversight and Transparency.

9 out of 10 new jobs require digital skills. Access to technology shouldn’t be a barrier to work and opportunity. 💻 Nearly 400 students across North Carolina applied for our Laptop Scholarship, a powerful reminder of the need that exists in our communities. In Partnership with North Carolina Department of Information Technology (@NCDIT) and the support of five regional subcommittees, 160 students from Eastern NC, Western NC, the Triangle, the Triad, and the Charlotte metro area were selected to receive the tools they need to succeed including a new Dell laptop, wireless Sony headphones, and essential school supplies. When we invest in students, we invest in the future of our entire community. #HFNC
