Wait... Isn't this effect usually in green? This seems like it would have the "this creature gets first strike/trample/etc" instead of dealing damage equal to it's power. Has WotC made a mono red card like this before? What do you think?

I wonder if they'll ever un-nerf Meathook Massacre in Historic/Brawl. It rotated out of Alchemy last year, but they didn't revert it. I just want to go back to gaining tons of life when I sweep 200 Scute Swarms.

Here's the Historic list I played at the Qualifier Weekend to a mediocre record after bad misplays. It does beat Energy hard unless you punt/multiple hate. I'd do -1 Diviner, -1 Hermit -1 Gamblek +1 Final Parting/Chandra/land/Divine Purge/Founding the Third Path @fireshoes

@fireshoes @karsten_frank No idea what the answer is here. Ban half of the deck? You probably want a minimum of Phlage, Guide of Souls and Ajani. They could also take this moment to unban fetches , elementals and bolt and such and make Historic Arena Modern.

Not sure if I'm reading too much into the early cards we've seen, but my read on Bloomburrow is that there's been a conscious effort to cut down on words/complexity in a lot of spots. Lots of really clean back to basics designs

@CubeApril I’d want to look at winrates before saying there is any issue with the metagame. The qualifier weekend and the Arena Championship will give a much better sense of whether the deck is too strong (from a small sample size of my experience with the format, I don’t think it is)

@DjMaffiXD Playing the deck for almost a week now. I dont think it has a bad matchup. It has bad pilots tho. I love playing with it but it is everything but balanced.

Historic Is living One of the weirdest periods ever because: -the deck Is relatively balanced (still the best) compared to the rest of the meta, pre MH3 Wizards was stronger relatively -there are tons of Energy variants in more colors too -there are other MH3 decks that do well
