From Livestock to Learning: A Journey of Hope from Kesre Ji Dhani, Islamkot Every morning, Viju, Chetan, Dolat, Mohan, Darsi and Kirshan still walk across the desert fields of Thar with their livestock — a responsibility they have carried since childhood. For years, poverty and hardship kept them away from school, making education seem like an impossible dream. Today, that dream is becoming a reality. With the support of the Directorate of Literacy & Non-Formal Education (DL&NFE), Government of Sindh, and the efforts of Thar Education Alliance, a Non-Formal Education Centre has been established in Kesre Ji Dhani, giving these boys a second chance to learn. After long hours in the scorching sun, they now spend their evenings in the classroom — holding notebooks instead of shepherd sticks, learning to read, write and build a brighter future.
