@henrywinter Still think if Haaland is offside, then should award a penalty for the clear foul on Senenya by defender (Wissa?), who’s taking no interest in the ball, as Haaland in an offside position has no bearing on Wissa’s illegal attempts to push Semenya away from the ball!

@StevieR60 @Whuollyhx No the backwards element isn’t a red herring. Ball must travel forward for offside. Otherwise many pull back crosses would see the goalscorer offside, especially when attacking team has counter-attacked

@Whuollyhx The backwards element is a red herring. If a player receives a ball after being in an offside position then it’s offside. However, this came off a Forest player so don’t understand how it can be offside.

@Gleisinger @FA_PGMOL Being in an offside position, is not an offence. The offence also does not occur until the point the ball is played, there is interference with an opponent (specific criteria), or an advantage is gained (specific criteria). Law 11 will clarify it for you.

People aren’t gonna like this but we’ve apparently massively upgraded the midfield (which was apparently our biggest issue) with Potts & Magassa but still losing games constantly, so what’s the main problem now?
