A reminder: Citrea don't need the blockchain - they need your mempool which is why spam filters had to be ridiculed and ripped out of Core for Citrea to be able to confidently build and launch their product.

The capture of Bitcoin is probably not reversible. The only solution is for miners to activate Drivechain and make Bitcoin Core irrelevant. Or everybody will have to migrate to eCash.

I don’t care what your opinion is around anything surrounding this issue — If someone cannot recognize what a poisonous and disastrous incentive structure DEI enforces at every level, how could I possibly trust you can understand the nuances and dynamics of the incentives that protect Bitcoin?
Anyone who thinks this is an unreasonable concern is either dishonest or deluding themselves because it might get “uncomfortable” to bring it up.
This isn’t complicated, this is flat common sense. DEI is a disease of incentives.

Adam Back asks why I didn't "simply talk to some developers"? Well... Three veteran devs are on record in the article collaborating the account there. Jon Atack, Vasil Dimov and James O'Beirne. I reached out to fanquake and AJ Towns with questions. They chose to not reply at all. I reached out to Newbery and Jonas with questions. They also chose to not reply at all. For Gloria and Amiti, I wasn't even able to establish contact details. I contacted Mike Schmidt at Brink to get the contact details, but he didn't want to share. So yeah. Now what @adam3us?

Adam said I should have talked to devs for the articles I wrote. (Weird since O'Beirne, Atack and Dimov are on record in the article) When I told him Newbery, Jonas (not dev), fanquake and AJ Towns were approached and chose to not reply at all, Shinobi chimed in calling me a "fucking clown" and that the questions were the problem, daring me to show them. So, here are the full emails that went IGNORED and UNANSWERED from the people inside the network I've documented. They desperately don't want to engage on the real topics of the articles.

Well worth a read if you’re interested in who controls Bitcoin core and how that control has been manipulated by relatively few hands.
It’s possible that core will always be controlled by a small group. And that’s ok. But by exposing the ideology of the current power center hodlonaut helps us decide if it’s time for a change.

Never would I have believed five years ago that I would be attacked, smeared and harassed by Adam Back, Shinobi, MrHodl and others for publishing a fully sourced investigation article about Bitcoin Core governance.
It doesn't quite feel compatible with the whole "don't trust, verify" and decentralization mantras.
It really is an unbelievable state of affairs. Appeals to authority, shaming, ad hominems, smears.... Zero engagement with the imo shocking revelations of the articles.
