@Mathieu_Ferron @nictitate I don't quite agree here. Our research assistants and associates (even postdocs) already are at that pay grade, and they have unions to defend them (at least in Québec). Who is defending our grad students?

@nictitate I agree with a rise for students and PDF. But if PDF goes to 60K and student to 37K, research assistants and associates should be increased to 80-120K. Without a substantial increase in CIHR+NSERC funds, this can only happen at the expense of reducing the number of people/lab.

@nictitate I was sure that this would be in the federal budget - instead it is just student loans. This makes no sense at all. Do we want our brightest minds to move elsewhere? Why are our Master's and PhD students living at the poverty line? Boggles the mind.
