This will be the greatest technological achievement since God created the real first Von Neumann machine. The biological human machine. We built the digital and mechanical machines. From sand and metal and other Earth materials. For real tho, it feels like our destiny.

@rough__sea Yes. Optimus will be the first Von Neumann machine, capable of building civilization by itself on any viable planet.

Claude's constitution is out! It's the culmination of a lot of work by many people, but it's also a work in progress that will no doubt change and hopefully improve over time. I'm looking forward to people's thoughts, and to talking with more people about this kind of work ❤️

We’re publishing a new constitution for Claude. The constitution is a detailed description of our vision for Claude’s behavior and values. It’s written primarily for Claude, and used directly in our training process. anthropic.com/news/claude-ne…

it’s impressive how nikita has driven the numbers up for x but i fear it’s at the detriment of man and not the betterment. luckily we all have our own free will and can smash our phones if it comes down to it :D
Nikita Bier@nikitabier

Before I took this job, I got breakfast with @joshelman, one of the first product managers at the company and my mentor for the last 10 years. He said getting new accounts ramped up on X has been one of the app's toughest challenges -- and the most important thing to unlock growth. And it's obvious to people who use the app: once you get out the mainstream timeline of news & politics and into your niche, you really unlock the magic of X. However, X is an interest-based graph, you can't simply "sync your contacts" and have a relevant feed. Power users like me have spent years finding accounts and curating our timeline. But that problem is now getting fixed: Over the last 6 months, we've been iterating each day to make it quicker & easier for new accounts to find their interests on X. The pieces are finally coming together -- and it's been amazing to watch.

Another problem with the new algorithm here on X? @nikitabier could fix this, but won’t, because it keeps a whole raft of influencers addicted to X for the payouts. What is it? The armies of people who regurgitate news. You know the type. Someone like Elon says something newsworthy. Then everyone else rewrites what Elon just said. X could figure out the originator of said news and just put that on everyone’s feed. This is why they turned down the retweet button to not matter anymore. Forces everyone to quote tweet and regurgitate. Grok could fix that but Grok is being held back from fixing that. Why? The more regurgitation that happens the more advertising inventory there is to sell to advertisers. Always look at the incentives. I am.

This is why Koreans are going crazy over Teslas. When Koreans first experience a Tesla, you can see it instantly. Their eyes light up. Their mouths literally drop open. You’ll hear them often say “대박!” (Daebak) which means “That’s insane,” “Unbelievable,” or you’ll hear a long “와아아아…” (Wahhhh), which is the Korean version of “Wowww.” The moment they try FSD for the first time and start talking to Grok, everything clicks. It’s pure intelligence on wheels that they’ve never experienced in any other car, let alone in life in general. Grok feels like your own personal AI assistant. You ask it anything. It helps you think. It plans. It adapts. It understands the real world. Tell it you want to go to Manhattan, New York, and do different things like in this video, and suddenly your trip is effortless and you immediately feel like you just stepped into the future. Korea has ~51 million people. It’s a small country compared to the U.S. or China, but it’s incredibly tech forward and insanely fast paced. Koreans move very fast, think fast, they adopt fast, and the whole country often moves in one unit. Koreans LOVE technology. So it’s no surprise that Korea has become Tesla’s 3rd largest markets in the world, despite its size. On top of this, Tesla is THE largest foreign company holding amongst Korean investors. This is not a surprise… they know who’s going to lead the future. Koreans are smart and technology is in our blood. And when they experience Tesla for the first time, they immediately see the future. I think I’m going to have to plan a trip to Korea maybe this year…

Solving AI5 was existential to Tesla, which is why I had to focus both the teams on that chip and I’ve personally spent every Saturday for several months working on it. This will be a very capable chip. Roughly Hopper class as single SoC and Blackwell as dual, but it costs peanuts and uses much less power. Now that AI5 is looking good, we have some headroom to work on Dojo3 too.

Elon just confirmed Dojo3 is back! When people heard Tesla paused Dojo last year, a lot of people assumed it was a failure and the team gave up. But that’s not what happened at all. Elon made a hard call in mid 2025 that Tesla temporarily shut down the dedicated Dojo team to stop splitting engineering effort across too many chip paths. At that time, Tesla was trying to build two different chip worlds: 1/ One for in-car and robot brains (real-time decisions) 2/ One for massive AI training (Dojo) That turned out to be pretty inefficient. It seems the real problem was AI5. AI5 is the chip that a lot of things will depend on like FSD, Cybercab, and Optimus. And by late 2025, Elon was very direct with us saying AI5 wasn’t where it needed to be. If that chip was a failure, most likely, Tesla’s future autonomy stack was going to fall with it. So Tesla redirected everything into one priority. Fix AI5 first and let everything else wait… I think this is why Dojo had to pause. Fast forward to today. AI5 looks like it’s finally in good shape. The design issues are resolved. The bottleneck is gone. And that’s why Dojo is restarting. Instead of separate chips for training and inference, Tesla is converging on a single family of chips by powering cars and robots individually and scaling into massive clusters for training inside data centers. This is where Dojo3 comes in. Dojo3 will likely be built around future chips like AI6 and beyond, leveraging the same core designs that will be shipped in millions of Teslas and Tesla Bots. FYI, this is the opposite of how legacy companies work. Most companies buy training compute from Nvidia and treat it as like a permanent tax… whereas Tesla is building its own compute stack end-to-end, training, inference, vehicles, and robots ALL in one unified system. That’s also why Elon is now recruiting heavily for the AI chips team and calling these “the highest-volume chips in the world.” He’s talking about chips that will ship in millions of cars, millions, potentially billions, of robots, and power the training systems behind them. It’s clear to me that Dojo restarted bc Tesla just solved the hardest problem first. And now the flywheel can spin again. Now I get it why Elon keeps saying a Tesla Terafab will most likely need to be built…

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of light, it was the season of darkness, it was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair. I think it was Charles Dikkens (with two k’s) who wrote that.

There are both cyclical and linear elements of history. Right now, we are in a race between cyclical decline and linear takeoff. End of an empire, good times creating weak men etc vs exponential technological acceleration.
