Sonnet-3.7 is available in Cursor! We've been very impressed by its coding ability, especially on real-world agentic tasks. It appears to be the new state of the art.

This is probably the sweet spot for running it on a Mac. Yes mlx can do 6bit now. 4bit mlx quants are quite low-loss lately too. Easiest way to get this running is via @lmstudio huggingface.co/nisten/deepsee…

r1 still has the deepseek leaning into python but it's fucking insane sonnet is over if I have a coder like this on a single 4090

@fchollet Human development is often preceded by “creativity” aka random thought collision. Maybe one should try to seed that into LLMs by introducing random ideas and reflection loops?

Deep learning did hit that wall, and the natural answer to get past it was deep learning plus search. AI research is about to enter its deep-learning guided program synthesis (or CoT synthesis) arc.

@minchoi High variability in forest structure, light conditions, and seasons, but I assume the tracking doesn’t care about what’s outside the object. But occlusion from dense foliage and other trees are a big thing
