I know this account is mostly about home mining, but today I want to share something a little more personal. Over the last few years I’ve been fighting depression. Today, for the first time, I spent the whole day alone with my little daughter… and for the first time in a very long time, I genuinely felt happy. There were laughs, smiles, silly games… and I realized how far I’ve come. I got into home mining because I needed something to pull me away from the negative thoughts. I thought I was buying a miner. Instead, I found peace. Over these past months I’ve learned, built, broken things, fixed them, stayed awake way too late chasing better efficiency, and even had people from the other side of the world jump on Discord calls to help me get a Bitaxe/NerdQaxe running. But the biggest thing I found wasn’t a better hashrate. It was a community. We’re all chasing the same dream, finding that block, but along the way we end up finding something even more valuable: friendships, kindness, purpose, and people willing to help complete strangers. It doesn’t matter if you’re open-source or closed-source, Team Bitaxe, NerdQaxe, Hammer, MagicMiner, or anything else. This community is genuinely something special. Thank you to everyone who has been part of this journey. You probably don’t realize how much you’ve helped me. André Gomes

Meet Nerdaxe Gaia A compact Bitcoin miner built around a single BM1373 ASIC chip, reaching ~2.4 TH/s at ~26 W on its standard profile. Around 10.8 J/TH, in the classic Nerdaxe size. Pre-order yours here: bitronics.store/products/nerda…

@HC_SoloSatoshi That’s true. I guess it also comes down to the silicon lottery. Every ASIC is a little different, so what works well for one chip might not be ideal for another. It would be interesting to see if there’s any real correlation.

Something I've noticed recently has me thinking... Now that the ambient temperature is sitting around 20–23°C, my miners seem to be having a harder time hitting at least the G range on their best shares. I know this is all about luck and probability, but here's the interesting part... When the room temperature was around 25–27°C, it genuinely felt like my miners woke up from a princess sleep and started setting new personal bests more often. Today I changed my Avalon Nano 3S fan from a fixed 50% (keeping the chips below 70°C) to Auto. Before the change, it had been running for quite a while with a best share of only 20M. Shortly after switching to Auto, it hit 222M. I know that's still a tiny sample and probably just coincidence... but it got me wondering. Has anyone else ever thought there might be a sweet spot between ambient temperature, chip temperature, and fan speed that somehow affects performance? Or am I just overthinking randomness? 😅 I'd love to hear your experiences. #Bitcoin #BitcoinMining #HomeMining #Bitaxe #NerdQAxe #AvalonNano3S

Yeah, I completely agree with you. I normally run mine at 50% fan speed too, keeping the ASIC around 70–75°C. I only switched to Auto as a quick experiment. During those first few seconds while the chip was heating up, my best share suddenly increased, which is what caught my attention. I left it on Auto for no more than 5 minutes just to observe the behavior, and it quickly reached 90°C, so I switched it straight back to 50% fan speed. It was just an interesting observation, not something I’d run long-term.

I don't use auto fan speed on my Nano3s. Auto keeps the chips at 90c which way too hot and will shorten their lifespan. I use hashwatcher and change the fan speed to 50% and keep asics at 75c. Since summer started it was near impossible to get maintain that temp so switched to mid workload.

With HashWatcher you can choose to only mine when solar is plentiful or when your battery reaches a certain level…with almost any kind of miner..no special firmware needed.

On top of the fact that Bitcoin's network difficulty dropped by 5% last Saturday, one of my Bitaxe Gamma and Nano 3S hit new best difficulties last night! ✨ The hunt for the Bitcoin block continues ⛏️ #Bitaxe #Canaan @HashWatcher ⚡️

One thing I love about home mining is how it connects people from all over the world. I’m just a dad with a full-time job, trying to spend time with my family… but every day I still find 5 minutes to check on my miners. Maybe one day one of them will find a Bitcoin block. So now I’m curious… Where are you mining from? I’ve already met amazing people from Hawaii, Brazil, Indonesia, USA, China and many other places through this hobby. Whether you’re just waking up, having lunch, or about to go to bed… home mining never sleeps. Drop your country (or region) below! 👇 #Bitcoin #Bitaxe #SoloMining #OpenSource #Mining #BTC

I’ve been working on the @GekkoScienceLLC KBox software for a while now, and apparently my brain saves the best feature ideas for the exact moment I’m trying to sleep. Some would say I need to go outside and touch grass. Today’s addition: Stratum Ping. It pings pools using the actual Stratum protocol, so you can see the real response time of your mining traffic — not just a generic network ping. In mining, latency matters. Your shares need to get there fast. These results are specific to me: UK, Starlink, middle of nowhere, some UK cloud cover, etc. This is not a criticism of any pool showing a slower response. It’s just routing, geography, physics, and my slightly questionable internet setup doing their thing.

When I first got into home mining, my only goal was simple: find a block. It all started with @DigiByteCoin . Then I started chasing the ultimate dream: a @Bitcoin block. After that, I thought… maybe a @BitcoinCashOG block would be the perfect way to recover some of the money I’ve invested in this hobby. But I think it’s time to go back to where the dream really is. All miners. Full Bitcoin. Wish me luck. #Bitcoin #HomeMining #Bitaxe #NerdQaxe #SoloMining

Sometimes all we need is a little reminder that it’s possible. Today my Bitaxe801 found a @DigiByteCoin block, and it put a huge smile on my face. It doesn’t matter if you’re mining Bitcoin, DigiByte, or any other network, moments like these remind us why home mining is so addictive. Even the smallest miner can surprise you. Keep hashing. #HomeMining #Bitaxe #DigiByte #Bitcoin #Mining
