Trump promised to lower costs and not start new wars. He broke both promises and everyday Americans are paying the price for his incompetence.

It’s hard to claim you’re fighting to lower costs for Americans while pursuing a tariff regime and a war of choice in Iran that’s driving prices through the roof in the first place. These aren't solutions. Trump & Republicans are failing to clean up messes of their own making.

Circumventing Congress on another massive arms sale—based on an 'emergency' of its own making—is just the latest example of this admin’s failure to manage a war of choice it started without a plan or endgame. @RepGregoryMeeks and HFAC Dems will keep fighting for accountability.

Trump and Republicans have tried to sell the Iran war to the American people as a quick victory. Instead, it’s meant months of soaring gas prices and instability, with no clear strategy or endgame in sight. A failed war of choice—and the American people are paying the price.

This action against @nacion by Rubio's State Department is the latest example of how American foreign policy is being used to serve the political interests of Trump and his allies—not the American people. The US used to champion press freedom. This admin attacks it.

Here's one of Trump's top economists celebrating the fact that Americans are maxing out credit cards and "spending more on everything" thanks to the Iran war. Inflation is up, groceries and rent are more expensive, and gas just hit $4.54/gal. We need to end this war of choice and lower costs for the American people.

Rubio claims the mission is accomplished for Trump's reckless war of choice. But in reality: Iran retains its nuclear material and leverage in the Strait of Hormuz, its regime is more entrenched than ever, and Trump is threatening more military strikes.

We have a year’s worth of economic data since Liberation Day, when President Trump announced much higher tariffs on most imported goods and countries, and the data are definitive; the tariffs have done significant damage to the economy. Since that day, job growth has come to a standstill, with only the non-traded healthcare industry adding meaningfully to payrolls. Also, since that day, inflation has accelerated, with the consumer expenditure deflator increasing at a 3% year-over-year pace, up from 2.5% before the tariffs and well above the Federal Reserve’s target of 2%. And the trend lines don’t look good, especially as the economic fallout from the Iran War hits with full force. The higher energy and other commodity prices caused by the war threaten to do even more economic damage than the tariffs, further undermining growth and pushing inflation higher. The U.S. economy is resilient, but just how resilient is set to be tested.
