“Trade unionists are greedy for wanting a pay rise? The profits of the top FTSE companies have gone up 73% since 2019. When are we going to ask if they’re greedy?”
- @RMTunion’s Eddie Dempsey
English

@andygkennedy @XenonMclaughlin @ronanburtenshaw @RMTunion Boom! Well said. That’s exactly the problem with the so called modern working method statement. The railway is not a supermarket where they can get rid of manned tillpoints and replace with self service tills & 1 worker runs around monitoring 12 checkouts!
English

@XenonMclaughlin @ronanburtenshaw @RMTunion Don't fall for the modern model of working bull. This is about staffing levels in safety critical areas being reduced to levels which will endanger the travelling public and increase stress levels in the workforce.
English

@XenonMclaughlin @ronanburtenshaw @RMTunion The modern model of working means cutting jobs not any technical upgrade shiz. Less staff means less safety & less customer service. See how that worked for the airlines recently post Brexit, nice speedy check in and baggage handling,NOT. Rail fares went up but their pay didn’t.

I recently drew a little hairy hound cameo design & rendered it in 4 colour ways inspired by a really lovely 1930’s house paint palette I found in a charity shop. The result was so good I decided to have them made into fabric woven patches❤️ up in my shop houseofhawks.bigcartel.com

Do you lot take responsibility for anything? You’re in charge of Transport. The buses , trains and roads are a mess and the staff de-motivated. That’s on you!
Rt Hon Sir Grant Shapps@grantshapps
Keir Starmer has spent 11 days refusing to condemn the rail strikes. On Wednesday he ordered his MPs not to take a stand against the militant unions. Now we know why: In private, he's backing the strikes which will grind the country to a halt. mailplus.co.uk/edition/news/1…
English

@nigewyatt @thetrainline Well said, I deal with this issue on a daily basis and it causes a huge amount of conflict. Please sort it out TL.
English

@thetrainline Can you stop labelling day returns as open returns. Confuses the fuck out of customers and it’s the staff in the ticket offices that have to deal with the angry customers.
English

@clough72 @DSpiggot @GNev2 Dot, the drivers are not the ones going on strike. The vast majority of drivers are not in the RMT, the union that is striking next week.
Here is a true rail wage for you. I work on the railway and my basic pay for the hours I do is 13k, I have not had a pay rise for 4 years.
English

@DSpiggot @GNev2 Odd that Reeds say 32 across transport workers... You'd think theyd know. Telegraph days 44 (obvs) Checkasalary.com says 30.
I guess we'll never know.
