@Hedgesgurl They will, but they’ll take the rest of us down with them.

May all the companies that chose AI over humans succumb to their greed and lack of humanity.
Leading Report@LeadingReport
AI can cost more than human workers now, per Axios.

@HighImpactFlix @LisaGor48011263 Same ole story. Totalitarians only have one mode, after all.
English

@LisaGor48011263 Cop attempted to murder someone, not knowing who was in the car, then blamed his victim.
English

Run from the cops because you don't have a driver's license with your baby in the car, what the f*** is wrong with people today...!!!

A toddler miraculously walked away uninjured after an officer pit maneuvered a vehicle during a high speed chase in Arkansas

So I've been listening to Ben almost daily since all of this started... before this, I listened to Megyn Kelly pretty regularly and rarely to Ben.
I can't believe I ever fell for Kelly... she's changed so drastically, it shows that she never believed a thing she was saying... and certainly doesn't believe what she's saying now.

@merissahansen17 We need mass surveillance police states in order not to become a totalitarian country lol

@Winfield_24 @SocialistMMA Running should be a red flag lol
English

@SocialistMMA Running as a Democrat at this point should be a bright red flag.
English

I just want to remind people the same propagandists like Hasan Piker who promote pro NATO Liberal Zionist Democrats like Graham Platner and Kat Abughazaleh, also promoted John Fetterman despite the fact that he was openly running as a Zionist
Its one thing to be fooled by a politician, its extremely revealing when one refuses to learn any lessons after being tricked though

English

@elonmusk Well, while I’ll couch my musings here in some measure of reserve, I’ll wager empathy is not a vulnerability you’ve ever suffered.
English

Beware the empathy exploit.
Empathy is good and right when thought through (deep), but can be deadly to civilization when simply stimulus-response (shallow).
For example, releasing a repeat violent offender may feel good at first (shallow empathy for the criminal), but it is wrong to do so when that person will go on to hurt or murder innocent victims, as there should be deep empathy for future victims.

@fhsdkjhfqwqwe I’ve dipped my little toe into cryptography, but I’m afraid this is beyond my reach

@HowIsAnyOfThis Correct me if you think On my way! Ring about the new to eke, but it struck me as a bit different, read by a smaller radar ship

“Sweet, bland commendations fall everywhere upon the scene; a universal, if somewhat lobotomized, accommodation reigns.”

@fhsdkjhfqwqwe In that I agree, but even then such institutions were already feeling the ponerization that is now more fully matured. It has been a decades, if not centuries, process to undue the intellectual zeitgeist brought forth by the Enlightenment.

@HowIsAnyOfThis New Yorker was niche
And to some extent actively anti middlebrow at leats McDonald was
The ‘anti middlebrow’ wave like in the 90s was b toxic
English

@fhsdkjhfqwqwe Mm, I think there’s certainly a distinct decadence in the zeitgeist, tangible enough to choke on.
English

@HowIsAnyOfThis ‘Serious’ criticism is begging the question a little
English

@fhsdkjhfqwqwe Well, there’s certainly no accounting for taste, is there? Lol
English

@HowIsAnyOfThis Better than the backbiting status jockeying and personal ‘risk’ to reviewer reign in, 90s stlyr

It’s really hard to stamp out strains of totalitarianism entirely. They go underground once the psychologically sane regain power and plot for their next attempt at societal madness and depravity. Which is largely what we’re seeing across the wet with mass surveillance and these totalitarian encroachments. They tried for a silent coup on a nearly global scale, and have yet to fail. They will, almost certainly, fail because that degree of vile depravity will not long be tolerated by the masses. The damage they can do in the mean time can be biblical, however.

The fuck is it with Germany? Why is it just consistently uniquely horrible among nations at every point in history?
Jacobin@jacobin
Germany has started stripping people of their citizenship based on pro-Palestine social media posts. A moral panic about minorities’ sympathies for Hamas is being used to chill free speech and establish a second-class citizenship: jacobin.com/2026/05/german…

@mtmalinen @WhiteHouse If that’s so, then America has failed to learn anything about the nature of the reality they inhabit. Trump, like the president before him, is limited in what he can actually do. The president is just a figurehead for transnational capital
English

@WhiteHouse Damage? Just give it a month or two to see the enormous damage Demented Don has unleashed upon your nation and the world.
He will be remembered as the worst U.S. President ever.
English

"When President Xi very elegantly referred to the United States as perhaps being a declining nation, he was referring to the tremendous damage we suffered during the four years of Sleepy Joe Biden... But now, the United States is the hottest Nation anywhere in the world" - President Donald J. Trump 🇺🇸
