@jzux Look up non engagement responses! Respond to the fear/anxiety with “that would suck”. When your brain starts spiraling with what-ifs you have to remind yourself that you have no way of knowing the future or what is going to happen and you will never be able to figure it out.

@jzux I have simply come to accept, neutrally and without judgements, that my brain lies to me. It can't help it, it's wired a little wrong. When I start to feel like I'm spiraling, it is a cue for me to remind myself: Oh ha ha... that's just my brain lying to me again, silly brain

@jzux i gave my anxiety/OCD trumps voice - so when i start thought spiraling “your friends hate you, your family hates you, you’re not good enough, something bads gonna happen” i just hear it in his ridiculous fucking voice and i just kind of think ah shut up man & it helps a ton

@HowdyDoo382494 It's just a shader on the top fifth of the sprite. The whole standing torch itself is just a single billboarding (always camera facing) sprite (image).

Basement/Dungeon scene. The whole scene including assets took me about an hour including assets (player character was already wired up). I think I am getting an idea of the gameplay loop I want to go for. How do you like the torches?

@pinkosand I see! I’ll have to look into baking them all or making an atlas like this. My game is using a lot of billboards that’s where most of my materials are coming from but I suppose I could even atlas all the billboards but then I’ll have to redo the uv of everything 😭

@HowdyDoo382494 for instance: i have something like 200 materials in my main game scene, and even tho they’re all under 100kb, i can’t get around the fact that it has to compile 200 shaders. so now, i’m kind of kicking myself for optimizing in the wrong direction.
