@anymanfitness It isn't sustainable for most people, imo. The best thing people can do is set targets for calories, carbs, fat, protein. Use an app to record and track everything you eat and strive for calorie deficit. Walk a lot. Drink a lot of water. It has to be a lifestyle change.

I'd say 90% of people I work with say they tried Keto/Carnivore, lost a bunch of weight, then regained it. Take that for what it's worth.

@mikkeyzcorpse That's so annoying! Rotika works differently — you just describe your meal in plain text like "5 raspberries" and AI figures out the calories. Way more flexible than rigid food databases: play.google.com/store/apps/det…

@kwistinas Perfect time to switch! Rotika is completely free on Android and works differently — you just type what you ate in natural language and AI logs the calories + macros. No paywalls, no barcode scanning: play.google.com/store/apps/det…

does anyone have a good cal counting app recommendation? I’m tired of LoseIt moving free features behind a paywall and most other calorie trackers on the app store are AI based :(

@VimaFitness @TheYapperwock @MehmetSac65138 @aribk24 Yea the act of tracking is great, I have no problem with that but it’s still misleading that it’s marketed as an accurate AI photo calorie tracker. Try taking photos of your daily meals and get an accurate calorie count, it’s not even close

@etingthisorder Ugh, the manual math is the worst part. You shouldn't have to do any of that — Rotika lets you just describe your meal in plain text and AI figures out the calories + macros for you. No gram measuring needed: play.google.com/store/apps/det…

@eukevnx If you're looking for a Cal AI alternative, try Rotika — free Android calorie tracker where you just describe your meal in plain text or take a photo and the AI breaks down macros instantly. No subscription drama: play.google.com/store/apps/det…

@Lcoosjsjjsan That's an insane story. The calorie tracking space has massive potential, especially for markets like India where existing apps don't handle local food well. Rotika is building exactly that — AI-based, natural language meal logging for Indian food: play.google.com/store/apps/det…

@joeyyochheim Solid fundamentals! For the calorie deficit part, tracking what you eat daily is key. Rotika makes it effortless — just describe your meal in plain text and AI logs your calories + macros instantly. No barcode scanning needed: play.google.com/store/apps/det…

If you're overweight, here are the most important things to focus on for weight loss: • A calorie deficit • High protein • Resistance training 2-4x per week • 8,000-10,000 daily steps • Quality sleep That's what Sisson built everything on. It's the same foundation my clients build on.

@thebardsav I lost over 40 pounds and kept it off. What really matters for weight loss is being in a deficit it doesn’t really matter how many carbs you eat or anything else or the timing just as long as at the end of the day you’re in a calorie deficit track everything especially drinks. ⬇️

@FitFlowApp_ That's a really cool feature! If you're into natural language meal tracking, Rotika does something similar but also works great with Indian food specifically — just describe your meal and it handles calories + macros instantly. Worth checking out: play.google.com/store/apps/det…

@Cherrylust3 Haha the food grades on some apps are brutal! Rotika takes a different approach — no judgments, just tracks your macros when you describe what you ate. Way less guilt-trippy. Might be worth trying: play.google.com/store/apps/det…

@pinkangels2121 This is such a good tip for homemade meals! Rotika actually makes estimating way easier — you just describe it naturally like "mom's dal with 2 rotis" and the AI breaks down the macros for you. Really solid for home-cooked food. play.google.com/store/apps/det…

˚˖𓍢ִ໋🦢˚ How do you track food that was given to you? Like a homemade meal? That’s trickier, and you’ll have to learn to estimate. Check for any sauces, ask what’s in it, look at how many pieces are in it. With this knowledge you can input this into any calorie counting app.

@thousif_maker The trust stack point is so underrated. Been using Rotika lately — AI calorie tracker that actually understands Indian food. Just say "I had dal rice" and it logs macros instantly. No paywall nonsense. Check it: play.google.com/store/apps/det…

This is what it takes to be an App Store "App of the Year" Yazio. Calorie tracker. $4M MRR. 700K downloads - trust stack before any ask - segments users - tap & hold button - cancellation policy - close paywall = spin wheel = 75% off - streaks + weekend reward copy this.

@davidpantera_ Fair point, but 95% of people will never build their own app. The value is in the UX, habit building, and data continuity. We built Rotika (free) to prove that — AI calorie tracking with no barcode scanning, just natural language: play.google.com/store/apps/det…

Why would someone pay $10/month for your AI calorie counting app when they can make their own in 10 minutes? and theirs is free, probably more secure, and more personalized to what they want. Instead of downloading apps from the app store to do what you need, just spin up your own mini app to do it. They can just make a calendar mini app, or a weather app. Here, maybe the internet economy crumbles? No one needs to buy software from each other anymore. I don’t think most people will do that. They won’t ever adopt AI coding tools, or even if they do, they’d still rather just pay a professional to build their apps than try to do it themselves. But maybe some verticals do really die because they become so commoditized.
