My best friend is Muslim, and she has been fasting. I’m not a Muslim, and I don’t. We joke about it. She’s going to a white CoE funeral, and calls me to ask what the norms are and what to wear and say. This summer, I’ll be going to a family wedding with her and asking the same. Because that’s integration. That’s how you build a society that works. We don’t all have to be the same. We just need to have policies that allow for proper mixing and insight.

@mdf200 @midnightmangler The Intel based SGI were quite odd. As I recall they chose to use 3 volt (?) PVI cards which meant you could not use commodity cards. Doubtlessly there was an engineering reason for this.

A lot of people have been asking; Since Glasgow Central has been blocked off, why don't Avanti use Glasgow Queen Street? It's an interesting question to let's explore it! 🧵👇

I'm British, I live in the UK, i've never been told to act in accordance with Sharia Law, ever. The only time Sharia Law gets mentioned is when Americans use it as a means of denigrating us. "How's that Sharia Law treating you" Again... what Sharia Law?

@TheProjectUnity How is it in England? The videos always show it as over run with foreigners as though theyre taking over but my friends that visit say it isnt like that in London. Curious what the truth is

@andrewhesselden I did just that. I took a job with @ASML. One of the most high tech companies in the world. Flew out on Monday morning and got to work.

3.Before Brexit, a British person could wake up and decide to take a job in Barcelona, start a business in Berlin, retire in France, or study in Amsterdam. No applications. No waiting. No uncertainty. Just the same rights as everyone else.

1.Thread 🧵 Freedom of Movement wasn’t just a policy. It was a simple freedom: the ability to say yes. • Yes to a job. • Yes to love. • Yes to a new life in another country. When that freedom disappeared, something subtle but important changed.

Rolls-Royce Shelves Lunar Nuclear Microreactor Project Rolls-Royce has suspended development of its lunar microreactor indefinitely following the end of government funding. The project, which had received £9 million and was expected to launch by 2029, stalled due to a lack of partners capable of delivering the system to the Moon. The company says it is prepared to resume work when suitable launch opportunities arise. The microreactor was considered a key source of nuclear power for lunar bases. A lunar night lasts 14 Earth days, and temperatures during this period drop to minus 130°C, rendering solar panels ineffective. The reactor was intended to provide a constant power supply, support the operation of habitation modules and scientific infrastructure, and serve as an autonomous power system for a long-term human presence on the Moon.

@HPCZorf You are quoting Hearns Law: it is always a DNS problem. Your data center is on fire? That means your DNS server is burning...

Research and Discoveries 3: Scientists have developed Effortdotjl, an emulator that simulates large cosmic structures (galaxies, filaments, voids) on a laptop, without supercomputers. Based on models like EFTofLSS, it uses neural networks and machine learning to replicate complex results with high accuracy in just minutes. This speeds up analysis of data from surveys like DESI or Euclid, enabling detailed cosmological studies without massive computing resources. @poloandsons Do you think they have to be sighted near to the source of power generation. (PS In Scotland normally spelt as centres.)

With highly skilled people, plentiful water and renewable energy, Scotland was ideally placed to benefit from the data center boom of recent years. But the UK energy market is designed to benefit London and the south of England, so we have this. The UK Govt is holding us back 1/2
