@DocCoyle depends on the unit. most infantry guys that join to go to infantry want combat. if you join and get sent to infantry, that might be a different story.

I have a real question for any active duty US military members in the timeline: In general, do soldiers prefer to avoid active combat or is it this thing where you train very hard for something and you are itching to get some action? I just wonder if these ideas of anti-war to pro-war sentiment come from mainly outside of the military or not.
