AEK released a statement clarifying the decisions taken during the extraordinary joint session of the Company and the Association. The statement reads: "In the wake of last night’s developments and the remarks made by Association President Andros Karapatakis, a joint meeting of the Boards of Directors of both the Association and the Company was convened today. During that meeting, all members of both Boards collectively submitted their resignations. As a result, General Assemblies will now be scheduled. It has been stressed that none of the current Board members intends to lead the club into the next phase. Until the General Assemblies take place, the Boards of both the Association and the Company will continue to carry out their duties and obligations as normal." At the same time, there are growing rumours that Xavi Roca is also expected to hand in his notice, potentially adding another major departure to an already seismic shake-up at the club.
