Violence against women and girls remains one of the most prevalent human rights violations worldwide. Too often, it goes unnoticed and overlooked. Today, digital violence against women is emerging as an evolving threat, undermining the safety and wellbeing of women and girls in online spaces. Women and girls deserve access to digital environments that are safe, inclusive, and free from fear and violence. There are #NoExcuses for violence against women and girls. This International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women, let us commit to work together to create a world where every woman and girl can live with dignity, respect, and security, both online and offline.

Effective today, the Maldives has made history by becoming the first country to implement a Generational Ban on Tobacco. This landmark step marks a historic milestone in tobacco control measures nationally and globally, and demonstrates the government’s strong commitment to safeguarding public health, and laying the foundation for a healthier, tobacco free, future for all. #TobaccoFreeGeneration
