Honestly, I think it’s ridiculous that every time I drop off my 2yo at Montessori, I have to drag in my 7 mo who weighs like 28 pounds in a stroller instead of just leaving him in the car for like two minutes tops. I’ve thought about doing it, but I could imagine one of the parents telling on me or something.

@chrisman Ask them what the consequences should be for homeschooling parents who fail to educate children. Then ask what the consequences should be for public schools that do the same. The difference in answers is the game.

@mrst1ange @trueliberal1848 Consumption/decline somehow progressed towards reusable rockets. Could take steps back, sure, but seriously? We are in decline insofar as we have rejected ourselves, our history and Christianity.

Steve Bannon nailed it. The second you hire an illegal alien at “bargain” wages, the American taxpayer quietly picks up the tab for their healthcare, education, housing, food stamps, and emergency services. That “savings” to the employer is just a hidden tax on you! Center for Immigration Studies confirms it: Illegal immigrants create a lifetime net fiscal drain of ~$68,000 each (taxes paid minus services used). RINOs and the cheap-labor lobby are both in on this scam — selling out the base for donor cash. Mass deportation isn’t cruelty — it’s basic math. We’re done subsidizing their profits. #DeportThemAll
Grace Chong, MBI@gc22gc

BANNON: If you want to hold the House, you go back to mass deportations. Can’t be run by lobbyists and consultants like Fabrizio, LaCivita. LaCivita’s on multiple payrolls feeding bad info and his record is horrendous. Burning money to take out @KenPaxtonTX and the grassroots. Criminal investigation.

My wife was 22 and I was 23 when we married. We eventually had 8 children. Our 20s were marked by Boomer generation “advisors” at the grocery store, events, restaurants, and stores WARNING us not to have more children. They openly pitied us for having 3+ children. Boomer women thought my wife was being oppressed by her husband. At an Outback, a man openly told me “I feel sorry for you for having those kids.” Many Boomers were brainwashed to perceive having children “as a bad thing.” Worst of all, they felt empowered to insult a young couple in the presence of our children. Meanwhile, these people were in favor of importing the entire Third World into America for the sake of GDP. What a strange moment in American history.
Hildegard of Bangin’@medieval_bops

I am 51 and deeply regret not having kids. I was stringently brainwashed into believing that I should never have children. I’ve never even been pregnant as far as I know. I was on birth control from age 16 through age 49.

@GCannoner83207 @HudsonDavis14 @dwarkesh_sp Not while you and I are alive. We're still pretty primitive. When we figure out how to behave better, we'll want all the help we can get from OURSELVES to reach our goals. A livable earth and settlements in other solar systems. Survival of the species.

I am torn. DeSantis is a brilliant mind. I have met him, heard him lecture - there are few who are his match intellectually - which is why he belongs on the Supreme Court. On the other hand, he is the most effective manager of a large bureaucracy that I have seen in my lifetime. For instance, I could see him being an excellent Vice President pick in 2028. That talent, which could really help the USA for decades to come - would be wasted, if he was on the Supreme Court.

Since James is talking about me, I figured I would debunk his argument in one sentence: Organized minorities always overthrow disorganized majorities. We don’t need 75% to make America Christian. We need about 10%. We have that now. Let’s get organized.

@neutrinomoon @dwarkesh_sp So you’re saying if I submit your presuppositions, I’ll experience a relief akin to salvation? Freedom for the soul? All I have to do is give up my priors, accept new tenets and walk it out and I’ll experience this freedom?

@HudsonDavis14 @dwarkesh_sp I reject your pigeonholing. I’m happy with life on earth, will be sad to leave it. I believe we’ll continue to survive, learning all the while to cooperate better. I suggest this thought experiment as a possible way for some (you?) to smooth the path.
