I live in stark defiance of the gestalt, brochacho. Mainly here to shout into the void/heckle influential people. All posts to be read as emotional outbursts.

I'm openly admitting there's utility in what he's putting out and not everything everyone puts out is what I would describe as ideal. I am highlighting the character of your recent tweet is tonally different but practically similar to your expressed concerns about his purity in terms of the demographics of people's associates. I am admitting that I don't care much about either, because neither is the focal point of the content currently being produced.

@HughAndFree A "purity test stream" to acknowledge he doesn't call himself right wing, says he's authoritarian econ left and hangs around black trans people. That's wild. You're openly admitting it's easy to deceive you as long as people say what you want to hear.

Those who *can* cite something specific-and many can-are benefited from this. You've helped bring them back down to the ground. You've helped them really understand what they want, and to articulate it.

You can fake your way through social media videos saying things like "we need to show up" and "it's this amazing energy," but in real life, you have to be specific, and you have to do actual activities. I don't let clients talk this way during coaching sessions. I stop them when they use phrases like this. "What does that mean, specifically?" "What does it mean for your mom to 'show up'? You can't use another cliche. You have to tell me specifically what you mean." People should do this more with each other. Insist on specificity. If your conversational partner cannot be specific, that means that she doesn't really have anything to say. It means he wants to be "in his feelings" and say things that *sound like* saying something, but are just empty emotional poses. -J

They're lying to seem deep. Bepop is the jazz equivalent of 80s shred guitar jacking off during an era where amplification, band configuration, arrangement, and timbral elements were a lot more constrained by the technology of the time. Lots of people think they're "missing" something in terms of not hearing some sophisticated sonic flavor, as opposed to hearing jazz dudes on speed manifest "what can I get away with while sounding a little different" in front of people. Charlie Parker was a very accomplished musician. Also fanatically practiced very precise sequences of transitions between chords ad nauseam to be able to fit one or two extra altered notes in a line, while technically, technically playing something that hypothetically fit the harmony. If you squinted. Don't get me wrong, I'm a musician and I like music that is aimed at musicians, but that's because I'm a big ol' nerd.

Seeing people mad at this from a pro-trans perspective but sorry this is part of building solidarity—you do actually have to explain to people what “connected struggle” means! You have to explain how your oppression can hurt them, too! This is just politics!

@TheEuphioAnswer @PostLeftWatch He initially just leaned into it. He made the slavery joke like a month later. In no way was this a pragmatic/shrewd response to fan outrage meant to get himself fired. Which is why it's so goddamn funny.

@HughAndFree @PostLeftWatch He mocked Saudi Arabia AFTER he received MASSIVE backlash from his audience. Dillon realized that the $500,000 paycheck was not worth risk losing a massive chunk of his audience. Something that Bill Burr didn't realize. Though Burr gets movie deals and may be more insulated

Sometimes I will listen to two neurotypical people argue. And it will seem like they're doing very bad, because neither is saying what they mean. Neurotypical people don't just say what they want; they spend their time trying to manipulate each other into spontaneously reaching a desired conclusion. That's when I helpfully interject by explaining what they're ACTUALLY saying to one another. I translate. And that's when I become the bad person. Which is why I've (mostly) learned: not my circus, not my monkeys.

@mvaneerde @hecubian_devil Trans folk are not 1% of participation in women's chess. Also, transitioning isn't going to take away the advantages that necessitate women's and men's chess competitions. You're a dishonest weasel.

I have, via several comment chains, clearly indicated I understand they can happen. They can happen and also disqualify one from participation. Once someone has been made aware of the fact that they have such an issue, if one knowingly goes on to mercilessly beat biological women into a pulp in boxing, one forfeits any sympathy I previously might have extended. The same goes for apologizing for said behavior. No one is defacto entitled to respect.

theintercept.com/2021/09/23/cor… I don't necessarily think they're wrong; I think they are lying. I also believe that the careful insertion of the word "new" into your post was intentionally disingenuous. The information we've had on deck is more than sufficient to make the overwhelmingly likely explanation lab leak. I also think you know that. It would be absolutely insane, nigh inconceivable for it not to be a lab leak. Just so there is no ambiguity? In no world was there a proposal submitted to DARPA by ecohealth alliance for splicing the exact cleavage site into bat coronaviruses only a couple years before covid happened and it not be connected to covid-19. The spike protein was the part specifically that puzzled scientists on how it happened. It was the thing they could not explain. And look, right there, in black and white. There is the proposal. The exact explicit instructions for the sequence were contained in the proposal. I don't know why anyone is attempting to gaslight the public anymore when we have a picture of the shooter holding the smoking gun. We don't need the actual smoking gun because we know who shot it. And Peter Daszack, wouldn't you know it, was quick to organize scientists to jump on the train and claim that there was no evidence behind the lab leak. He even discussed putting distance between him in the letter by abstaining from signing personally. Why are you trying to gaslight people?

@mvaneerde @hecubian_devil *shrug* close enough. You seem familiar enough with this case to understand why Khelif shouldn't have been participating. Neat. Can a trans woman compete in chess with biological women?

@HughAndFree @hecubian_devil > the reporting indicates they left it up to individual countries to provide whatever documentation they wanted for sex assessment or what have you Not quite. The IOC deferred to countries for official gender for each athlete, but this had nothing to do with eligibility
