@SolomonWycliffe @serotoninbender @funeraleggsalad Perhaps I misread your intention, I’m so used to their being a distinctly negative sense to the word “consumerism,” almost synonymous with “excess” It is weird and I think a lot of people don’t appreciate how weird and new it all is.

@HugoMarat @serotoninbender @funeraleggsalad capital/trade itself isnt objectively good or bad and neither is consumerism. it's just hella weird that we're doing it at all is all i mean, right? like we're all part of this ongoing engine for some reason. but getting a banana in january in ohio is good 4 dopamine 4 sure.

@funeraleggsalad sometimes when i go to a major grocery chain or big box store i get this sort of existential whiplash where i think about how insane consumerism is. like, all of this shit coming from various parts of the world in an endless parade of production and supply and demand

@xAlexTHFC Diaz rejected us, Kvara would have done the same. Atleast we should have signed Dembele, who was a fan of our team, to play alongside Kane when he was with us. Levy fumbled everything!

Austrian philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein hits an 11-year-old pupil, Josef Haidbauer, in the head, causing him to collapse. Wittgenstein carries the boy to the headmaster’s office, then quickly leaves the school, but he runs into another parent, Herr Piribauer, whose daughter Wittgenstein has previously beaten. Piribauer vows to have Wittgenstein arrested, but Wittgenstein quickly skips town.

@Seanfrank Good list. I’ve often recommended Rag & Bone bc even men with negative fashion sense have difficulty screwing up there, and it’s accessible financially (~2.5 on your list)

Easy Mens Basics: $- Uniqlo. True Classic. Kirkland. $$- Buck Mason. Huckberry. Cuts. $$$- James Perse. Upper end Ralph Lauren. Theory. $$$$- Brunello Cucinelli. Tom Ford. --- At tier 1, you get a shirt that will look good for a great price. BUT be warned, so much junk at this pricepoint, stay to tried and true brands, Tier 2 is the sweet spot. You get good pieces at reasonable prices. For under $300 you can have a full outfit that looks timeless. Tier 3 is the upper end of acceptable. $80 cotton tee shirts all the way to $200. You are paying for design, Italy/USA factor or fabric. It could be $1000-$2000 per outfit. Tier 4 is actual luxury. $500 floor for t shirts. You are 100% paying for labels. But everything here will be Italian fabrics and factories. An outfit is easily $5,000-$10,000. Where billionaires have their assistants shop. --- There are hundreds of brands not on this list. Everlane used to dominate tier 2, so did gap. Taylor stich, J crew, todd snyder, rhone, etc could all be swapped in depending on your style. Try a bunch of these brands. Go to any high end mall. They will all be next to each other.
