Very cool! Methylglyoxal (MG) is a toxic byproduct of glycolysis and a current hot topic of research. Addition of MG to a cell has issues with MG transport through the cell membrane. This paper shows a novel photocaged MG that can enter cells. #CSUICM2022 pubs.rsc.org/en/content/art…

Interesting paper by the group of @trety001 @tretyakova_lab with first author @HurbenAlex in @ChemCommun. They developed photocaged methyl glyoxal probes to study protein glycation with spatiotemporal control in cells.
