@Stibbs @HuskerFollower People just don't appreciate art, unfortunately. Thank you Stibbs. One day I hope I can take a truck pic and people will be like "That's just as good as a Stibbs Truck Pic".

@Stibbs @GRIMMnM Sorry Grimm, but Stubbs has you beat here. Take a note of the composition and framing. You cut off the back of the truck yet have too much dead space on the left. The low angle and distortion is a little less pleasant, as well.

@FeitCanWrite Also, you are definitely trying to win every game. Isn’t that the point? Do you really want them to play a game thinking “Let’s not try very hard to win this week, because our goal is only to win 7 or 8.” Competitors should go out every week aiming to win.

This. We all know that Nebraska is not winning the CFP this year, but I don't need to shame a kid for having confidence. My issues with the program do not need to be shoved onto Anthony Colandrea.

🌽🏈 Let’s be honest. T-Magic could tell you this is a no-win situation. Say you want titles and you’re cocky, unrealistic, “OMG, here we go again!😠”. Say you don’t worry about titles & “he doesn’t care about winning!” Crapped on either way 😂🤷🏽‍♂️. Son, just give us your best🫡

@GRIMMnM what about going the way of local journalism in newspapers? What does still exist is mostly national syndication of giant corporate conglomerates. Even then, capitalism makes things go away when they are no longer profitable (regardless of importance).

@HuskerFollower I don't think local radio will ever go away, regardless of format tbh. It's too important for communities.

101.9 The Keg was an incredibly special radio station. I am so glad I had the opportunity to be a voice on the station from 2017-2022. I learned a lot, got to do a lot of really cool things, and met a lot of really cool people due to the station. The end of an incredible era.

@GRIMMnM It is like standard TV compared to streaming. Streaming a show is intentional. You select it, so it commands attention. Having Seinfeld reruns on in the background with commercials promotes conversation. Better isn’t always better.

@GRIMMnM I still think FM music radio provides a service that isn’t replicated by modern streaming platforms. It is curated by people not in the room (thus objective) and has commercial breaks so it is casual. Very different than a host’s playlist for a party. We’ll miss it when it’s gone

For what it’s worth, I don’t think either of them should be getting hate. I didn’t like the segment and what I felt it represented in the fanbase, I don’t have a problem with them as people.
Dave Feit@FeitCanWrite

@itmeolliev @HurrdatSports @ralulla @NextGenMaleMed @damonbenning @HailVarsity There's a reason I asked for an example from Bishop, as he's been getting the bulk of the hate out of this deal (even though I agree that lone comment from Josh is the easiest to get mad about). So I'll ask again: What was the worst thing Bishop said?

@JackMitchellLNK I think the villain angle is insightful. People like superhero movies because they turn a complex world into one with obvious good and evil. Our ancient tribal brains aren’t as good at social situations as we think, and we prefer “good guy there”, “bad guy over there”

Based on years and years of this cycle, I’ll allow that if you are sure someone you don’t know has a mal-intented agenda you have identified, you may be right. If you are sure they are a dishonest, unethical, or heartless human, you may be right. But you’re probably wrong.

Coming up on 20 years of work in news talk radio. The vast, vast majority of my interaction with listeners has been unbelievably positive. In the rare instance they’re negative, it usually involves the listener confidently stating their assumption about what I think, why I think what I think, or informing me of my agenda. Anyone who has taken even the slightest bit of time to get to know me would know that in about 90% of the cases they are hilariously wrong, often to the point of being diametrically on the other side of what is true about what I think and why I think it. It’s uncanny. I think some people just need the existence of a villain, and to ensure that, they interpret everything they can in a light that will confirm and justify that existence.

@HuskerFollower @CollinHumps @Joshss1ms @JimmyMerwa9931 With Nebraska athletics, the "dance" is that scoops are not reported until the athletic department says it is okay... or you lose your credentials. That's the reason any breaking news comes from Pete Thamel instead of the many talented beat reporters.

I didn't care for the Taylor take, but going after people for what they say about recruits is rich AF from the guy who ran the Cornhusker Juan account & spent a year trashing a different 4⭐ recruit. Also, you'll find Juan's alter ego Theo camped in the USC comments between 2-6.

@FeitCanWrite @CollinHumps @Joshss1ms @JimmyMerwa9931 I just mean that journalists have properly sourced and accurate information all the time, but there is a dance with how it is delivered. Even still, Rhule pressuring media to be compliant/silenced is a cardinal no no for me. People in power trying to silence media is never good.

@FeitCanWrite @CollinHumps @Joshss1ms @JimmyMerwa9931 I think we can admit that was a weird situation all around. Josh acted like someone who never gets scoops and was desperate for a story, really inappropriate (and not pragmatic) for a head coach to try to silence media members, AND Josh has noticeably soured on Matt since.

@FeitCanWrite I think one thing that is ironic is that all the Twitter replies are (presumably) adults who are actively trying to make another person’s life miserable.

@dieworkwear Curious your thoughts.. you discuss clothing as a social language, with how certain colors and styles convey certain ideas. But with the current decline of aesthetics, doesn’t any intentionality in clothing just convey archaic or try-hard over any classic cultural messages?

I think it's nice that we have different types of clothes to celebrate different occasions. Today, men typically reach for a business suit when they're told to "dress up." Gone is formal and semi-formalwear; even the necktie is disappearing from view.

@HurrdatSports @ralulla @NextGenMaleMed @damonbenning @HailVarsity Honest question, Ravi: do you think your more measured perspective is shaped by your cohost or is it more that you just like how Rhule does things? It seems like media personalities feed off each other, and I imagine you having a stronger opinion a couple years ago.
