We're open-sourcing BOxCrete, a new AI model for the construction industry. Using Bayesian optimization, BOxCrete helps producers rapidly design concrete mixes with domestic materials, bypassing months of lab work. The results from our data center build in Rosemount, MN: 🚀 43% faster time to full structural strength 🛠️ 10% reduction in cracking risk 🇺🇸 100% domestic material usage We are open-sourcing the model and the foundational data to empower producers everywhere. @NASA @NASAKennedy Why does Nasa show the CGI graphic so much? It only shows the cool stuff for 2 seconds and switches back to some graphic. Please keep the live camera feed rotation going.

We're going around the Moon. Come watch with us. Artemis II's four-astronaut crew is lifting off from @NASAKennedy on an approximately 10-day mission that will bring us closer to living on the Moon and Mars. The launch window opens at 6:24pm ET (2224 UTC). twitter.com/i/broadcasts/1…

It's not even a joke, the hard data on the New England lobster population is genuinely concerning. 🦞 34% Population Drop: The Gulf of Maine/Georges Bank stock, the backbone of the MA commercial catch, has plummeted since its 2018 peak. 39% Drop in Juveniles: Recruitment of young lobsters settling in the area fell drastically between 2020–2022 compared to 2016–2018. Fewer young lobsters today means significantly smaller harvests tomorrow. A tough reality ahead for the local industry.

@brysonkjones How much of the performance gain comes from the multitask diffusion formulation itself vs. the specific CLIP vision+text encoder choices? Any ablation results on swapping in alternatives like SigLIP or DINOv2 that you could share?

not just btc and crypto, it cracks the exact same RSA & ECC encryption that powers your bank logins, credit cards, TLS handshakes, and SWIFT transfers. same Shor’s algorithm. same 2029 timeline. banks can push post-quantum migration updates faster than Bitcoin could… but the “store now, decrypt later” risk is real for everyone

We are mesmerized by the glowing surface of a cosmic ocean. Every star, galaxy, and photon we can see is just the shimmering ripples, making up a mere 5% of reality. The universe's greatest secrets aren't written in the light; they are locked away in the pitch-black 95% below. Maybe the quest to understand the universe will uncover the key to moving beyond the matrix. @grok
Nick White 🇺🇸@nick_white

We are trying to understand a cosmic symphony while only hearing the violins. Everything we can see and measure makes up just 5% of the universe. The true mechanics of reality are hiding in the remaining 95%: the dark sector. It’s time to listen to the rest of the orchestra.

latest SAM 3 release hits 30+ FPS on an H100 one of the best zero shot detection models is now available for real-time use cases hard to explain to how big of a breakthrough this is for building with vision any use case you can think of is now unlocked and can be immediately shipped then refined later

We’re releasing SAM 3.1: a drop-in update to SAM 3 that introduces object multiplexing to significantly improve video processing efficiency without sacrificing accuracy. We’re sharing this update with the community to help make high-performance applications feasible on smaller, more accessible hardware. 🔗 Model Checkpoint: go.meta.me/8dd321 🔗 Codebase: go.meta.me/b0a9fb

There is a massive gap between a functional prototype and production-ready software. Anyone can spin up a basic feature, but they often overlook the critical infrastructure: auth, database management, security, webhooks, and things like websockets. With my background in cybersecurity and network architecture, I’ve seen these vibe coded setups look great, right up until they fail. The real magic happens when you combine practical, blue-collar operator knowledge with rigorous systems engineering.

Blue collar builders are the future of vertical software. Today I had 2 conversations that changed how I see software. 1/ A pool service operator built a chemical dosing calculator and route planner. He asked his software company for these features for years... they kept saying no. So he built it himself. 2/ A scaffolding rental company owner built an inventory and scheduling platform tracking every piece of equipment across every job site. He was losing $40K/year in missing frames, and nobody could tell him where anything was. Now he knows where every piece is, who has it, and when it's coming back... and it's all integrated into his CRM. The blue collar builder era is here. 👷

valid skepticism, the trades are unforgiving to outsiders. but growing up with a master electrician in the family, gave me a front-row seat to the daily friction. platforms like ServiceTitan might have paved the way, but they represent an older, manual paradigm. the next evolution won't be another 2015 era dashboard needing a 'certified' operator; it will be a suite of AI agents fully automating the back office, spanning sales, marketing, accounting, dispatch and customer support. AI is a paradigm shift, and shifts like this always disrupt cornered markets.

I will never understand why so many white-collar guys think they can just build a SaaS for home service business owners They have no idea what they're getting themselves into Not a game I would ever dare to play. Companies like Service Titan, Jobber, and House Call Pro already have this market cornered If you think your vibe coded SaaS platform is going to change the home service space Good luck

@heydannypeavey The irony is that AI agents will soon automate all of these processes. The era of requiring certified professionals to manage back-office systems is rapidly coming to an end.

Your field team can’t run elite without a strong back office. <$10M on ServiceTitan? You NEED: • ST admin • KPI tracking against budget • Bookkeeper that knows ST That’s the growth engine. Problem: it’s too hard + expensive to build out and it shouldn’t be.

@nick_white @RepGoodlander Classic progressive left modus operandi: unanimous Senate bill excludes ICE/CBP funding, then calls it “essential bipartisan funding” while blaming Republicans for the shutdown. Same tired playbook.

This morning, the Senate voted 100–0 (unanimous!) to fund TSA, the Coast Guard, FEMA, and the remaining unfunded operations at DHS. But tonight Speaker Johnson is refusing to allow a vote on this commonsense, bipartisan bill in the House. Outrageous. Time to stop the political theater and get this done.
