Article V doesn’t require Congress. It is a state-driven process, just as the Founders intended in these situations.
Valspar11@Valspar111

@RonDeSantis Yes. How do you plan to get that around the people that currently hold office and will NEVER make either of those things happen?

Enough with the false flag operation that you are desperately pushing @SpanbergerForVA You told Virginia voters last fall that you wouldn’t redistrict our state and silence millions of voters, but you lied and tried to do it anyway. You knew from the very start that your scheme was illegal and unconstitutional.  You had my official AG opinion which laid out in clear detail why each action was unconstitutional, but you ignored it and pushed ahead with the referendum anyway. When a judge halted the referendum because he found it had violated the state constitution, the AG and your legal team appealed his ruling to the VA Supreme Court and argued that the case couldn’t be heard until AFTER the vote had taken place. Then, when the VA Supreme Court ruled and said you had violated the law, you lied about why you lost the case (and then some in your party even hatched a plot to remove all of the Justices as retribution). Now the US Supreme Court in a 9-0 decision, with Biden and Obama appointees agreeing, unanimously ruled that you broke the law and the entire process was unconstitutional from the beginning. Enough with the bait and switch, Governor. It’s time to be honest with Virginians for once. You and your fellow Democrats tried to illegally and unconstitutionally strip millions of Virginians of their voice in congress, costing taxpayers millions, dividing our state and pitting neighbor against neighbor, all to seize political power.
Governor Abigail Spanberger@GovernorVA

The Supreme Court of the United States has now joined the Supreme Court of Virginia in choosing to nullify an election and the votes of more than three million Virginians. These Virginians made their voices heard — casting their ballots in good faith to push back against a President who said he’s “entitled” to more seats in Congress before voters go to the polls. As Governor, I will make sure voters know when and how to cast their votes this year. Because our votes are how we choose the representation we deserve.

@SandraJayne12 @JuiceTheGator Nothing obvious about it. We have been paying Virginia taxes for 30+ years, not FL. Again, military are allowed to choose their home state, and if that isn’t good enough for you… get off my feed. If he isn’t welcome to move to the state his mother is buried in, WTAF!! 😡

So, seriously, I am leaving Virginia and all its nonsense behind after 30+ years and moving to Florida in a couple months. Hit me with all your best advice. I'm a native Texan, hubby claims FL as home state, and we've been in VA/MD since we met. Ready for new adventures!

@SandraJayne12 @JuiceTheGator Wow, cynical much? He was born in KY and lived there until his parents divorced. He then became a military brat who lived for multiple years in FL, with his grandmother, mother, aunts and uncles all settling there. His mom is buried there. I meant emotionally, not legally.

@PpollingNumbers @PolitiBunny No. The current VA-01, in which I live, has been red for basically ever. The “new” VA-01 would have been a radically different district, but it was never officially VA-01! No change, VA-01 stays red, Rob Wittman will be re-elected, you are just engagement baiting.

Phantom II@Phantom2Phlyer·
OK, here's why the Democrats got kicked in the groin by the Virginia Supreme Court. The people of Virginia, in trying to protect against momentary democratic (small 'd') emotions of the day, put into their Constitution that, in order to amend it, there had to be two things happen. First, any proposal to amend their Constitution required that two legislatures, separated by an election (and there's the big part), vote to put the amendment before the people. The Virginia Democrats didn't do that. They stuck the first reading into a special budgetary session, and the next reading into a general session. While the resolution passed both times, there wasn't an election in between the two votes. So there was no election that separated the legislature who voted in a special session, and the legislature that voted for the amendment in the general session. Moreover, the Virginia Constitution required that the votes be taken in two general legislature sessions. The special session that was called was not a general session. So this action violated the Virginia Constitution in two separate ways. Which is why the Virginia Supreme Court shot it down. So when you see the Democrats whining because 'democracy was overturned,' they're right. Because we're not a democracy, and neither is Virginia. We're a republic, and so is Virginia. We're ruled by the Constitution and the rule of law, not by mob rule, which the Democrats prefer.

I’ve lived in Virginia over 30 years. I’m not going to let these crooked idiots keep abusing my tax money like this. Moving to Florida in a few months. Anyone got tips for me? Husband lived there as a kid but I never have. Can’t wait!

This is a legal embarrassment: washingtonexaminer.com/news/supreme-c… Anyone who even remembers their civics class (no law school needed for this one) knows that state supreme courts are the final authority on state constitutions. Pathetic. (and going nowhere btw)

Actually, the Va. Supreme Court protected the constitutional rights of all Virginians... including the value of their votes, and most importantly, their due process rights under the Virginia Constitution. Saying crazy things like this, doesn't make them true @RepJeffries

The decision by the Virginia Supreme Court to overturn the will of more than three million voters will not stand.

@IamSvented @RealFrankFromFL I don't disagree with your assessment it just baffles me. Trump was handed a fortune by his dad & turned it into multi-billions. He's not even close to working class, never was. Ron's dad was a cable installer. He went to college on a baseball scholarship & military commitment.

Blue collar/white collar cultural split, IMO. Trump is perceived by his supporters as a street-fighting thug. Ron works at levels they don't understand...and they are threatened by it. Also, Ron is a small government conservative. Trump wants to be the guy who wields power for his base, no matter how much he has to spend or increase his own power.

“Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart.” – A. A. Milne As we mark the 100th anniversary of the beloved Winnie-the-Pooh stories, The Queen has presented a very special gift to the New York Public Library, reuniting baby Roo with his friends from the 100 Acre Wood. The Library is home to the original collection of toys owned by Christopher Robin Milne, son of A.A. Milne, which inspired the characters in the beloved Winnie-the-Pooh series. The collection is missing Roo, the baby kangaroo who was lost in an orchard in the 1930s. The new addition of Roo was created by Shropshire-based company Merrythought, who also created the original toys. 👀 Watch Roo’s great adventure travelling from Buckingham Palace onboard Their Majesties’ flight to his new home in New York.

Nothing infuriates an uninformed Congressional Dem more than when they realize they voluntarily triggered a debate with someone who actually knows what they are talking about, reads federal statute and adheres to Supreme Court precedent. Today’s self-implosion by @rosadelauro was quite remarkable to witness. Without apology or regret, I will always adhere to the best available reading of federal statute pursuant to the U.S. Supreme Court decision in Loper Bright.
