The Devil's Advocate

$LPTH was looking 'ok' until Friday. After a huge run from mid Nov to mid Jan (top ticked by someone famous here), it had been range bound for 2 months. Range bound in this market environment is 'ok'. Not a pristine chart by any means. There had been a willing buyer around $10.30 for a while. That buyer did not show up Friday and the stock fell out of this box. It bounced off $9.20s area that has been old highs from Oct 25-Dec 25 but that could prove to be temporary before a larger swoon. Everything in Iran points $LPTH way; they are going to be the eyes for a lot of things. That said, fundamentals don't mean diddly in a bear market or forced selling environment. So "thesis" means zero in the short term. NGSRI news might be coming in next month but this is not the environment to push out great news - you will get a 1-3 day rally and then get pole axed. If this was June and the $QQQ was 10% lower I'd be buying hand over fist on any significant down days like we had Friday- probably Jan 27s to get more juice than Jan 28s. This is neither June and I think the correction has a lot more to go (after a furious rally somewhere here in the next few weeks) so there is no rush for me. Everything long term is only improving. I think this will be in the $40s PPS around 2030. We are 5 months away from hopefully Jan 29 LEAPs being introduced to the market. Good chance we will come out of the bear in Q4 so maybe we will get a similar price to load up as 'here' at beginning of fall, if it is a rough spring and summer.

The one question I can't help but ask, is the following; This paper, if I understand it correctly, is Google saying we have cracked the design for a cryptographically relevant quantum computer. That's a very big deal. Why oh why, did they focus the paper on our blockchain bags? Not government codes. Not banking infrastructure, Not internet protocols. Internet funny money. By no means disqualifying, but certainly an odd think to be the topic of interest for such a discovery.

Many are wondering "what Google saw" that caused them to revise their post-quantum cryptography transition deadline to 2029 last week. It was this: research.google/blog/safeguard…

0 for 3! Also — notice how none of the ideas involve shortening the season which is partly how we fell into this tanking sinkhole in the first place. They come up with 3 “solutions” and none of the 3 are “what would 72 games look like?” This league is so frustrating

Yeah man I'm not coming at you...just asking questions b/c you are good at seeing things from a different angle than consensus (and me!). Fwiw, I think that an export ban (even if paired w/ a price controls) will induce foreign market panic (already seeing increased Asian activity at the USGC). This will cascade to the S&P 500. "$3 gas + $3trillion reduction in HH Net Worth" is not the campaign slogan I'd want to run on.

How can the US, which can't even protect its own soldiers at its bases in the region and instead leaves them stashed away in hotels and parks, protect them on our soil?
