@carlworker Very sad, Mme Chen was an amazing leader and almost single-handedly revived sandalwood in China with her Museum. A great friend of New Zealand and Auckland and the Park Hyatt will be a lasting icon to the vision of her family and their commitment to art and people.

Saddened to learn that Mme Chen Lihua, principal of Fu Hua International, owner of the Auckland Park Hyatt, and one of China’s wealthiest private businesswomen, has passed away at 85. Her decision to build the Park Hyatt was an important vote of confidence in Auckland’s future as an international visitor destination.
