Na ukończeniu jest łączący rumuńskie i mołdawskie Ungheni “Most Kwiatów” (jak się uda, do końca roku będzie gotów). W ramach SAFE sfinansowane będą też częściowo fragmenty prowadzącej do niego autostrady A8. Wybrano już wykonawcę. Cztery kolejne projekty mostów na Prucie (o których wspominałem), między innymi Fălciu–Cantemir, Bumbăta–Leova oraz Răducăneni–Bărboieni, znajdują się w fazie studiów wykonalności. Równolegle planowane są prace modernizacyjne lub rekonstrukcyjne dla innych przejść granicznych, w tym Sculeni–Sculeni, Oancea–Cahul oraz Albița–Leușeni. Dzieje się także w sektorze kolejowym. 22 kwietnia pociąg po raz pierwszy od 30 lat przejechał przez most Fălciu–Cantemir bez zmiany rozstawu kół, co pozwala na wznowienie bezpośredniego połączenia kolejowego na tym odcinku. Innym projektem strategicznym jest modernizacja i elektryfikacja linii Jassy–Ungheni, finansowana z pieniędzy unijnych. Według sekretarza stanu za około półtora roku zostać ma ukończony pierwszy zelektryfikowany odcinek. Planowane jest również wznowienie pasażerskiego transportu kolejowego między oboma państwami na trasach regionalnych takich jak Cahul–Gałacz i Fălciu–Cantemir. Byłby to prawdziwy przełom bo dotychczas do Rumunii (konkretnie do Jassów i Bukaresztu) dostać można się tylko Kiszyniowa, Calarasi oraz Ungheni (stacje te znajdują się po prostu na trasie do granicy). Oczywiście plany te niewątpliwie spowalniać będzie kryzys finansów publicznych i prawdopodobny, podgrzewany przez niego kryzys polityczny.
